I’m so jealous you’ve seen Moana! She’s my most anticipated. I feel like they were revealing them one at a time so that people would get FOMO and panic buy them all, but they aren’t selling out anyway so I don’t know why they don’t just show them all 😂 I’ve never had a set so I’ve decided to complete this one because I love the unique designs and I’m going to D23 for the first time! But I really hope there aren’t any that I hate lol

I just purchased the new Cinderella and Snow White Disney Princess Dolls, they are both arriving this week. I use to purchase most of the Disney Princess Limited Edition Collections as well, but now I only purchase the Disney Princesses that I really like instead of trying to keep up with every doll that comes out in the Princess line. These limited edition dolls are not cheap and I have so many at the moment and running out of room as to where to store them. I love looking at them as I do not de box any limited edition dolls. Maybe I may decide to sell off a few that I'm not really fond of. I really enjoy your channel so please buy as many or as little dolls that you wish. No one is here to judge you, I just come to your channel for your expertise on the subject of dolls. Actually most of the Limited Edition dolls that I have purchased was because of your KZbin video reviews and suggestions. Keep up the great work!

I recently started collecting dolls again (mainly Barbie, but I have also branched out) after a nearly twenty-year absence. I spent hours going through eBay and other reference sites to see what I had missed. Although I really regret that I will never have some beautiful dolls that have now gone above $500 or even $1000, I soon realized that if I had been collecting all along, I would have spent way too much money and have no space. I have made a few purchases I regret, but I now buy dolls trying to project forward. Generally that means buying higher-end or special edition dolls and skipping basic play line unless I can get it on sale and actually intend to unbox and play with the clothes (e.g. Barbie Extra). I am not a huge Disney fan, so I only plan to buy a few of the Ultimate Princess Collection. I haven’t seen one so far that I couldn’t pass up, even though I like them all. I am totally not a completist and would rather just have one each of several series than all of one series. I think the whole collecting thing is like a buffet. You really can’t have it all and be healthy, so just pick what seems most appealing and remember you need to save room for desert.

Those particular Mermaid High dolls you had are $20...the $27 are the basic ones that come with more stuff...but yes...still could be a few dollars cheaper.

Ooof, try collecting American Girl stuff and buying the bigger sets. Man do they take up a lot of space. One of the items I got, the actual structure is still in the box and I’m not sure it will ever be used - I’ve taken all of the smaller pieces from it to fill the kitchen in the AG dollhouse my husband built for me. Another big item has not been opened at all. I totally understand, it is so hard having a completionist mentality. I also just received 3 of the new ultimate princess designer dolls (Tiana, Mulan and Ariel). I like Tiana and Mulan, but Ariel just arrived yesterday and there is some kind of spot (missing paint) on the white of her left eye. It is pretty small so I feel petty returning her but on the other hand she isn’t a $20 classic doll and it is hard to accept any imperfections. Every time I look at her it looks like she has a speck of dirt in her eye and I feel frustrated. The other 2 dolls were actually returns so I got pretty low numbers for how late I ordered them.

Don't buy dolls you don't like- just for other people. i always tell my sister (who is also a collector) not to buy dolls unless SHE wants them. That rule is almost always the way to go (though, i should have bought the barbie merman- and then sold him on ebay. for some reason he's a hit with collectors, i didn't like him, he looks cheap)

That Cinderella Carriage playset is gorgeous! Maybe when you get rid of the other regrettable purchases, you’ll have space for that playset. i wonder if the carriage is big enough for Cinderella to sit inside.

Fomo and buyers remorse has a chokehold on this community, luckily I don't have too many dolls that I feel like I shouldn't have bought besides one. Sometime before news outlets covered the Johnny Depp and Amber Rose trial I was gifted the Mera doll from the Aquaman movie. It was one of the first expensive dolls I ever got and I absolutely loved her dress in the movie and I really liked the doll. But after the news came out about what happened I felt guilty about owning the doll.

I agree with Mermaid High. I’m still a bit salty that I paid the full $27 for the one I have, I have all the Mermaze Mermaids and they definitely do blow MH out of the water with their much more interesting designs, more high quality clothing, and beautiful faces. And I rather have articulated wrists and than a knee join or legs tbh.

Oh I felt this in my soul 😂 I just went through my Disney last summer and I am working on my 18” and BJD now. So many regrets (space, duplicates, things I didn’t need/love)… FOMO and impulse shopping is real (especially late night after the kids go to bed). I have gotten much better (and I’m no longer a completionist) but I’ve still accumulated so many things. I agree, the line has to be drawn somewhere.

Please be careful with older Monster High dolls. I had a plan to buy not more than 10-15 at the beginning from the older series and I actually created a list from all the existing dolls to restrict myself from buying more than that...well, something went horribly wrong at some point and I'm "bankrupt" now with the numbers climbing to around 100...hahaha

I don’t regret getting any of the dolls I have currently but I do have a couple fomo dolls, I’ve learned to just accept that I dont need every single new doll release and there will always be more dolls coming out that I might like more if that makes sense

I regret buying some classic dolls. I have them in a shoe box without displaying them, cuz' I don't have room for them. And I regret buyong the live action dolls. Lets face it: live action movies are not thst great, and the dolls, even if they're beautiful, I don't care too much for them.

I couldn’t agree more on the Lady Tremaine dress and the whole weird cage thing (as well as the villain collection just being a bit boring and overrated in general). Not only is it very… weird and placed imo a kind of inappropriate looking spot, but I feel like the cage part of her dress was also a way to cheap out on her dress because it replaces a huge part where fabric, which would be more expensive because of the type and need for embroidery, would’ve been.

I think the best villain doll they have made so far is the wicked Queen from Snow Whites 80th Ann. Even though Maleficent is my favorite villain, I don’t like the ones they have made. I am in the process of selling 2/3 of my collection. I just don’t have the room for them. Most of them have never been out of their shipper, except to inspect them when they arrived. Thanks for letting us know the ones you wished you didn’t buy.

I must admit, I regret buying the Mickey and Minnie Mouse Limited Edition Sweethearts Doll Set. I bought it with the hope that shopDisney would release a set for other holidays (Halloween), but they didn’t, so now I’m stuck with it. Oh well, I guess!

Nice to see your face 😁 Now I remember why I always avoided the Disney Design Series 😂 I only have the "Special Edition" Elsa, which I love very much, and the Cinderella, which unfortunately had to be unpacked (the box arrived completely broken ), after a makeover with new eyelashes and lots of rhinestones, I really like her too. I agree with you, Cinderella is one of the best real life action Films from Disney. Funny Story to tell about the Dolls and they can be worse so 😂 Mermaid High, ok 🤷‍♀️ Yep, I have the Cinderella playset too, it's very big and bulky and was very expensive, but I still like it 😅 I totally agree with you on the Midnight Masquerade Rapunzel, for a limited edition doll totally lame design. Personally, I like the Midnight Masquerade Villains a lot. I have three of them, the Evil Queen, the Maleficent and the Yzma all in the original packaging. I especially like Yzma because she is such a funny and underrated character and, as far as I know, there are no other dolls made by her. I only have a vague view of the current Disney Designer Collection, the first three didn't blow my mind, Mulan looked like a villain in my personal opinion, Arora was too simple for me. I only have Tiana because I like her outfit and hair. I will also get Merida. I'm disappointed by the first look at Vaiana/Moana, but we'll have to wait and see. For my own Collection, maybe she is too small for that, but i actually have nothing in my collection that i regret buying soo 😅

I share your opinion about masquerade Rapunzel. She’s not the best, but I do have her because I love Rapunzel. I have a different dress on her and I braided her hair. I am not really crazy about the villains either. I only have the Evil Queen, Vanessa, and Hans from the Hans and Elsa set.

The only two dolls I really regretted buying were two of my four create your own American girl dolls. It’s hard not really knowing how your concept idea will turn out. I sold them on eBay, and then went on to use the money for something else :))

I actually have buyer's remorse for a few dolls which I've decided to sell. A couple monster high dolls I'm getting rid of. I wanted the style series but changed my mind after picking out the characters version from different companies that I like best. So thats been a huge help keeping my collection tame. I'm not a fan of the large dolls, or porcelain ones. They're nice but not for me. Aaaand alot of the special edition dolls just aren't worth it to me for the price. I like them, but I don't love them sort of deal

I agree with your points! I'm not fond of these dolls either. The new designer collection wasn't what I thought it was going to be :( . I was really hoping for the same quality as the masquerade sets. I might just wait to see if they release 17inch Megara this year.

For anyone who has ever said anything along the lines of “I’m embarrassed for him or I’m embarrassed for his daughter” please keep your comments to yourself. As a doll collector myself (typically rapunzel dolls and Barbie movie dolls) it’s not embarrassing in any way it’s what we enjoy and what makes us happy. Also I wish my dad would collect dolls that would be so cool!! Anyways I luv your videos

I swear, they always do Rapunzel so dirty in some way shape or form. While I love the original purple and wedding Rapunzel, her face is just so ugly. The 10th anniversary one has a better face, but the dress isn't as extravagant as the first. Usually, however, they mess up her face. For some reason, she always turns out looking like a generic barbie

I felt this video. I have many of the same MEH and WHY DID I BUY THIS with my collection. The Villains Sets, The Jumbo playsets...ETC...FOMO has been the death of me and I've stepped back and realized I don't need everything that's being released. Thank you for sharing your buyers remorse.

Another great video. Thanks for sharing this. I wasn't really a doll collector myself until RH. I owned a few black designer Barbie dolls for cultural reasons like Uhura and Gabby Douglas. With RH I do love them all and own doubles but since there are so many coming out I do wonder if I can keep up. Looking forward to your next video!

I am currently reducing my collection… what is wrong with that midnight masquerade Rapunzel? I didn’t buy the midnight masquerade I’ve been collecting for a while now and I do know that you don’t buy everything that you don’t buy as much I had to draw limits on my buying because I ran out of room and now I’m trying to reduce to make room for all the dolls in 2022…so yeah Rapunzel?

Compared to the others and for the price she costed, she just wasn’t worth it and didn’t stand out in any way.

I never really understood the appeal of Disney Villains, so it’s understandable why you didn’t like the line. I almost forgot that line existed. But oh no the artwork for the Snow White Designer doll looked wonky? Fingers crossed she turns out ok 😩. Snow White is my ride or die princess. Hope she doesn’t get messed up.

I have been watching your reviews a long time - and I gotta say that you have absolutely come full circle with doll collecting . As another male doll collector- I have also worried that people would think I was crazy and weird as I shopped the doll aisles . I think as one gets older , we tend to not care as much or not at all in some cases.I just do not care one little bit anymore. Life is short and unpredictable. I’m glad I have this hobby to lift my spirits and my creativity. I’m so happy for you that you are allowing yourself to branch out more with different dolls . I think RBH has ensnared almost every doll collector I know ! God I love those dolls ! Anyhow - you do you - because no one else can do it better my friend . Your daughter is probably stoked she gets your cast aways lol!

I was always so afraid to branch out to anything other than disney - but man has it been fun! RH dolls are AAAHHMAZING and i LOVE the monster high dolls so it is truly a pleasure getting these new lines. The mermaze dolls have quickly become a fave as well! I try to not let what otjers think get to me - some days its easier than others. But we all have weak days. My daughter LOVES that i give her dolls, though now she has a ton🤣🤣 Thanks for watching and for your support and kind comments!
