How ZUN makes Nostalgic music: 1. Get a SD-90 2. Only use the instruments in the SD-90 3. Add Chore, and mack the the WAV file 4. Weird Tuning, you gotta have it to mess abit with the quality (Bonus) In the SD-90 edit thing, theres specifically a lofi preset. Be sure to use it for the drums if you want to~ and there, you get nostalgic music

To me it's a tune from another time, that calls to my soul "Do you remember?"... misty mountains and golden sunsets. Powerful nostalgia, but it's like calling from memories of dreams... so strange. I was born on a mountainous island, maybe that's why Japan is nostalgic to me.

Dolls in Pseudo Paradise came out before the demo of PCB. It's a bit of a sign that the concepts of featuring dolls, Hourai, and other points were all ideas floating through ZUN's mind in the early days of Windows Touhou.

Can't say I think the new soundfont is inferior to old one or the other way around, but yes I agree that apart from the newer style (since touhou 10 - 11), I'd like Zun to compose more of the old style he did in TH 6, 7, 8, 9.

iirc zun used an sd20 for both eosd and pcb (and I'm guessing dipp too since it's from the same time), as opposed to the sd90 he started using from in onwards (that from tga onwards uses combined to several vsts). what I find surprising is how realistic the guitar sounds in this track for a synthetizer guitar.

@@cereza065 did he really use an SD-20? I thought he always had an SD-90, and he started using some VSTs alongside it from PCB (being specific, the Edirol Super Quartet and LM4-Mark II). And, the sound of the guitar Is really... "Vintage and warm"? Idk if those are the correct words to describe it, but that's why it works so well, imo.

You have missed a lot, yes, but that doesn't mean that you can't find it. Touhou, like Gensokyo, is a fantasy world that will never go away as long as you believe in it. And the internet is forever. Just like how magic is supposed to be around but hidden, if you know where to look and seek it out then all the old Touhou things from the past will be there to discover. -happy hunting.
