"I didn't stand in your way...." That's the bit that cuts me deepest every time I hear this song. The most beautiful, loving woman in the world left me on a cold August morning in 2002 because I was too proud to "stand in her way." She was involved in a motor vehicle accident about five kilometres from where we lived and was in a coma for five months before losing her battle. I crawled inside a bottle of whiskey and didn't come out for seven years. Now every day, I wish I'd begged her to stay.
@rondarawson62363 жыл бұрын
And its painful....but your not helping yourself by blaming yourself for this....what if you asked her to stay.....she stayed..but she still got in the accident .....because fate is fateGo and you cannot stop people from dying if it's there time....all you can do is let them go.....feeling bad is an excuse to drink after it's all said And done....because if she loved you ...you know this isn't how she would of wanted you to be.....if she and you were really in love....you would find your way back....you would try .....for her...then you would see....if it wasn't for her leaving...you would never understand or realize ..you have so much strength and compassion.... maybe you cant fix others or there pain...but if you can fix yourself....everything will be added to you...God bless...Peace be with you.....

The lyrics and arrangements of this song really touched me hard. M/s Parton is so angelic in her voice and appearance. She sings with so much feeling and emotion and all the characters that appear with their sad faces in this video makes me think of the difficult times we have to cope with when someone we love leaves us. I truly miss you.

You packed in the morning I stared out the window And I struggled for something to say You left in the rain without closing the door I didn't stand in your way Now I miss you more Than I missed you before And now where I'll find comfort, god knows 'Cause you left me Just when I needed you most Yes, you left me Just when I needed you most Now most every morning I stare out the window I think about where you might be I've written you letters that I'd like to send If you would just send one to me 'Cause I need you more Than I needed before And now where I'll find comfort, god knows 'Cause you left me Just when I needed you most Yes, you left me Just when I needed you most You packed in the morning I stared out the window And I struggled for something to say You left in the rain without closing the door I didn't stand in your way Now I love you more Than I loved you before And now where I'll find comfort, god knows 'Cause you left me Just when I needed you most You left me Just when I needed you most Oh, you left me Just when I needed you most
