Dolly Parton will always do what is called SINGING. HEY YOU SING My Heroine. What I like about Dolly is that I knew her from my youth in the 1970s I was in my 16yrs in a senior secondary school. I use to sing her songs in our social gatherings, songs like it's too late, just because I am a woman etc, I will always love u My legend, I've millions of your songs in my phone, plus keep on living may God bless you

And what's sad is that the younger people of today say "this is Whitney's song". I don't mind putting them in their place because it's Dolly's song. It's just that Whitney recorded it at least 20 years later and people fell in love with it all over again.

Whitney's version was oversung, overplayed, overemphatic, & seemed demanding. Dolly and Vince - along or together - come at it from a more humble place, which is why I'll only listen to their versions. When The Bodyguard came out, my daughter had just been born. If that commercial came on, she'd begin crying and it would be a long time before she'd calm down again. To this day, she hates hearing Whitney's version.
