I had a Sprint in late 70s, I managed to blow engine but rebuilt with friend, these cars were really quite fast for the day, loved it.

I’ve never worked on one before but must say it’s been quite easy to do so. Engine looks like fun too

@@Automotiveolie for some odd reason I remember the starter motor was terrible to get out when in the car, the top bolt has hard to get to, it never went back on..... I remember this from 1978/9. Odd things that stick eh ?

@@peterbullen3347 I’ll try and stay away from the starter. I always remember doing a starter motor on a 318i e36 and that was a complete pain in the ass to do aswell. Always put off doing them

Nice job. Great metal fab too. I’m working on one for someone too so will be following this build 👍

Cheers! I’ve just got some new welding gear so hopefully the welds come out well

Love it. I've got my pop corn in and I'm following with interest. I could never afford a Sprint as a callow youth, I had a 1300TC instead. Not quite the same but good fun!

They all drive the same if you drive it like you stole it 😂. I will say it’s fun to work on. Slightly less complex than the Range Rover panels

I like the Cavalier parked in front.

It’s a future project, just trying to track parts down for it

You may want to consider removing the wings to gain access to the inner structural areas that are prone to rotting out.
@Automotiveolie Жыл бұрын
I’ve cut away the lower section and apart from so lower end corrosion it looks ok further up, I’m trying to avoid removing the wings as they’re the original ones with nice spot welds and good panel gaps
@niceone6blue Жыл бұрын
@@Automotiveolie I understand your predicament. I have the same issue. I’ve elected to remove the wings so I can to top structural sections.
