Dolores Wallace Johnson was born in Monroe to Ivy and Lena Wallace on June 22, 1934. She attended Neville High School where she met her best friend and the love of her life, Johnny T. Johnson.
Dolores and Johnny T. shared sixty years together and had six children. Dolores fiercely loved her family. She has passed onto to them her joy of life, adventurous spirit, strength, kind heart and sense of humor. She volunteered for many organizations including the flower guild at Grace Episcopal Church and the Junior League of Monroe, loved playing bridge with her bridge club, and especially treasured receiving the “Mom of the Year” award. Dolores created a home where friends were always welcome. She and Johnny T. were known for their Greek Easter celebrations, and during Neville High School football season, their pre-game parties. They enjoyed any opportunity to spend time and laugh with their friends. It was a rare day when someone did not comment on Dolores’ beauty and grace.
Dolores passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and caregivers on January 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny T. Johnson, who died on January 16, 2017, and their son, Michael Todd Johnson and grandson, Ryan Johnson; parents, Ivy and Lena Wallace; sister, Yvonne Elliot.
