Physically, Dolph looks WAAAAAY more like a superstar compared to Kevin Owens, and its not even a joke. However, in demeanor, attitude, and the ability to sell themselves and storyline on the microphone, Kevin blows Dolph out of the water, especially as a heel. Owens has all the intangibles to be a bonafide top guy like Roman. He just lacks the model/hollywood lead actor face and the athlete's body. Dolph has all the physical characteristics you'd want in a top guy, minus the height. He's a good talker but nowhere near the orator of a Miz or an Edge. And even though he's similar in size to a Jericho or HBK he doesnt give off their otherworldly charisma/magnetism. Wasn't trying to knock either guy, was just trying to be honest!

It's literally Dolph's role in the company to be who he is, he even turned down a championship opportunity during his MITB cash-in himself, he said "let's get Dolph Dolphed for real" or something like that. Dolph should’ve shifted after Owens said all that lol instead he just said exactly what Owens said he was going to say. I used to be a huge Ziegler fan and I still enjoy watching his matches. But look at the guys who were still in the main event and title picture 20 years into their career. At that point they had evolved and changed things up while still remaining who they were at the core so many times that you could look at a picture of them and know what era of their career it was. Dolph Ziggler has basically been doing the same thing for 20 years. It’s sad because talent wise there’s not a ton of people that are more gifted than him and I’m talking in the history of the business. If he came up with something new and gave people a reason to be excited he could be in the running for a title right now. Unfortunately it seems like he’s so stuck on wanting to be Shawn Michaels that I doubt he’ll ever do anything else.

This is probably the best take ive read about Dolph and I 100% agree. All of Dolph's contemporaries had noticeably different eras, whereas he's kinda just been a hodgepodge of Mr. Perfect, Billy Gunn, and HBK. Cena, Orton, Edge, Punk, McIntyre, and Rhodes (now) all looked the part in gimmick, physical charisma and attitude before they eventually got their main event push. I sympathize with Dolph though for things like his terrible ring name but he seems too comfortable (or scared) to revamp like Y2J does routinely, which has really put a ceiling on his career.

To be fair Dolph got further than Sami though I prefer Zayn personally. Bryan connected more over a longer period of time and cemented himself. Dolph had a hot period it was just brief but he won a good amount during that brief run. Sometimes it’s all guys get even if they deserve more. It’s why I cherished Brays short WWE (Not Universal we don’t mention that.) title run.

Zeigler goes away for 2-3 months. Comes back and you just catch a tail end of a conversation between him and Triple H. Zeigler is out of sorts, upset, and Triple H says you can't just wait around for an opportunity. If you want it, you gotta take it. Triple H then passes him a sledge hammer. Zeigler pauses for a moment before taking it. Over the next 8 weeks He proceeds to savagely assault the current superstars until he's the only one left to challenge the champion. He goads the champ into a no DQ match and absolutely demolishes the champ and becomes the new champion.

Dolph has my least favorite gimmick in the entire history of wrestling. You can't go around talking about hell you are a great wrestler and only win half of your wrestling matches over the course of 10 years. It's so stupid. Maybe it's somebody from higher up or something that needs to sit his ass down and have a talk with him, but if he goes around saying he's the show off, he has great matches, and he's so great, you should only be able to have that gimmick if you actually are going to be booked to win. He's not, and he needs to think about that fact before he goes out then cuts promos about how great he is.
