@Dirgloo 6 Billion I imagine he saw at least one marlin (they're not technically schooling fish but where there is one there is usually more since they go after the same food source) and the wound looks like the shape of a bill. Imagine being slashed by a sword made of bone and then stabbed on top of it. Once you consider that the picture kinda falls into place.

Also can come to the conclusion that it was indeed a marlin if we listen it sounds as if the crew is speaking Spanish, so we can assume it was in the Gulf of Mexico or further south even. There’s only really one predator that could’ve left such a mark.

That’s actually a mahi mahi and depending where you are in the world, they’re called dolphins also. I grew up in the Virgin Islands and we call them dolphins and very tasty when grilled.
