The area needs 5 items ASAP.... 1. Pedestrian sidewalks. 2 Proper drainage 3. Markets for hawkers 4. Matatus / Bodabodas Regulation. 5. Garbage collection & cleaning of streets. The area may transform to a high rise buildings slum if order is not restored.

I am still amazed by how or whether the county government has any plans to upgrade the infrastructure in Eastleigh including roads, drainage, sewer/water lines, walking paths and parking. Even either requiring buildings parking garages or just have more parking areas a little outside the busy areas of Eastleigh.. It just doesn't make any sense. Somali business man can come together and lobby for these types of developments.

I walked through this area a few days ago. It was around where Rage and Arafat towers are and even went inside some of these buildings. They were a lot nicer than I expected them to be. Whoever is building these towers is actually doing a decent job in terms of construction. They all have modem lifts and they took great concern for the residents in terms of safety. The biggest problem though is open sewer right outside of these buildings. I am still thinking about buying 1-2, if possible, bedroom units and renting them. They are in high demand because you can do all your shopping a 2-3 minute walk away.

If we had a leader driving this idea from the top, say the president and the same idea is adopted down the political ladder, many Kenyans would begin to understand the importance of environmental conservation. The issue is that politicians fear being discarded by people if they push this agenda. Look at how Sakaja alikunja mkia after kupigwa vita when he suggested that magari zisiingie tao. Sahi hawkers have taken over the city na he's afraid of chasing them out. As buildings come up, the trees disappear. This does not happen in high end areas like Westlands, Lavington etc. despite high rise buildings coming up. Why is this? May be @Dolphine254 this what you should be asking. Let's protect our environment as we develop areas.

Skyscrapers are easy to renovate and it can last for ages. Most Europeans and Americans buildings are decade old but the keep renovating and modernize them. I'm a Nigeria and i assure you that if any state Gov partner with Somalis to take up this project believe me, it will spread across other states like malaria. These Highrise max buildings help to fight and contain poverty
