I love that castle. I have been there twice. Every time I step inside I feel as if I'm being watched from the ghosts of the 13th century. It always makes it so incredible that Llywelyn most probably slept in this castle and was born opposite at the other astle. I've been there often although I am not living in Wales, its a wonderful place Snowdonia, I can only imagine how the castle was in its original state...It should like all the others be restored to former glory. I love this part of Wales..

I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking me on a trip down memory lane. My grandparents lived in the village many years go, just up the road from the pub. I spent all my childhood summers there. I hope you took the time to look inside the Welsh church, it has a gorgeous carving of the double headed dragon of Dolwyddelan in the woodwork near the ceiling. And I also hope you took the time to go up Moel Siabod. We scattered my grandparent's ashes up there. Anyways, thanks again. :)

The new castle was built by him. The old castle in which he was born is on the other side of the road.
