Rest in peace to the World’s Happiest Drummer. What an inspiration. Love ya Dom.

Dom is a great example of uninhibited expression. What a creative an explosive solo - not simply an expose' of technique... I love it! Thx Dom

RIP Dom, I loved all the clinics you did on Long Island and the lesson I took with you at the Wis-Dom Drum Shed! Thanks for the inspiration♥

I was at this. He gave one of the best motivational speeches I have ever been in attendance of. Before he played he explained how much he loves his new HHX setup, and the benefits of playing open handed. This isn't a conventional rock solo, nor should it be compared to one.

Dom is 1 of the drumming masters, his sense of time, sound, colors and style make him unique. Dom knows how to constuct solos, what and what not to play, it's why this man can can hold master drum classes throughout the world. And BTW Doms a nice dude as well.

You may be right about the musician part but his solos are sooo tasteful and full of finesse and I tend to forget about his studio experience. Take Dennis Chambers for example he has a black hole of a pocket and he has been on albums that my parents grew up listening to but everybody loves him for his chops and fast solos....

Because you want to hit the "top" of it, not the side, for the best sound. It's just easier to hit that sweet spot when it's on an angle like that.

I can't think of any. I remember when i was studying with a student of his, Dean Sanderson in NJ, he said Journey made him an offer in the late 80s and he turned it down. Other than that, I have no idea except for a handful of one-off shows.
