I believe that the focus of a testing ground should be on teaching people how to identify issues, rather than explaining how problems arise. In actual testing scenarios, it is unlikely that someone would discover the issue with this JavaScript code among hundreds of pages. I have used scanning tools and DOM Invader, yet I still could not uncover this problem point - this is the real issue. It's not about guiding people to find vulnerabilities in meticulously crafted websites designed to have exploits.
