Yes, definitely! It requires you to be strategic, so that you can add rules that would give an opponent a huge disadvantage. It is not like the current domain expansion where your cursed energy and technique are huge factors. In the old domain expansions strategy likely played a crucial role which made the fights much more gamified and interesting.

Domain Expansion is essentially someone taking full control of a space with their power and forcing their will on anyone in that space. It is very potent, and I have a feeling there is still more hidden secrets to how they can work.

While numerical value has its advantages, it also creates problems within the power system itself, that's why cursed energy is strong as a power system due to its simple but over time becomes more and more complicated while maintaining that simplicity(like do you know what I mean).

There _kinda_ is a standard measurement for CE, but it’s used more like a showcase of where a person is at in regards to CE instead of as a current power level. The measurements go as such: 0 -> 1 -> 2 and possibly so on. 0 = no cursed energy (Heavenly Restriction and “non-sentient” beings (plants and such) 1 = Regular humans and other sentient beings (think Mei Mei’s crows) 2 = Jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits With the Akutami author note about CE starting at 2, I think he means that CE _manipulation_ starts at 2. Essentially saying that the threshold for entering the jujutsu world, as a combatant, is 2 (unless you’re Heavenly Restricted). This is just my personal theory/observation, though. P.S. Anything else regarding actual power levels really doesn’t matter as fights have always been shown to come down to combat prowess and technique versatility (Nobara is obviously one of the weakest characters, but she is one of only three characters shown in the series that is able to attack the soul).

Great video man Personally I think Megumi's Domain is quite special even though incomplete In the latest chapter we see how megumi is unable to make a complete Domain due to his inability to grasp the concept of barrier techniques, so he transforms the gym into his own Domain, in simpler terms he took an existing space and made it into his own Domain. People think that this is a major drawback on megumi's part but it could potentially be one of his greatest abilities. What he did explains how he was able to activate a domain inside Dagon's domain, his ability to transform an already existing space into his own Domain allowed him to enter a domain tug of war with Dagon whose domain was far more refined and should have overpowered megumi's. He took the part of the space that Dagon had created and transformed it into his own Domain. With an ability like this he might be able to activate his domain regardless of the situation, even if he finds himself in Gojo's infinite void. Just a theory tho.

I read it as more a crutch. Like trying to fill a water balloon while it's resting in a bowl vs filling it up while holding it all yourself. Still doable, just one is more difficult than the other. And megumi isn't skilled enough yet to not rely on physical walls

Like Mage said, Megumi's lack of a barrier isn't a conscious decision like Sukuna's. Megumi uses defined regular spaces to help his boundary formation as his domain isn't refined enough to be self-contained. For megumi's domain, having no barrier is a huge detriment as the whole point is for the shadows to slow the opponent down, which cant work very well if they just flood out in open space allowing them to fly/jump/run away. Sukuna has so much destructive range his lack of a barrier is basically a non-issue.

Would it be possible for someone to have multiple types of domains? For example one lethal one and one non-lethal one? I am assuming the latter uses less cursed energy, so it might add some versatility for the user depending on their opponent. While I do feel like this is unlikely since most people only have one cursed technique and it requires a lot of skill and imagination just to form a single expansion, I also think it would be a cool concept.

Aside from creating a simple domain or that other *spoiler* falling blossom technique that the zenin clan uses, then so. I'm pretty sure everyone incurs one innate domain that is true to them, their techniques, and personality. That's not to say they can choose not to unleash attacks in their domain. After all, they have complete control.

Well about the domain expansions bypassing limitless, it was stated by Jogo that if he made a domain expansion dense enough, it will reach him. Well that line did get me thinking. So it should imply that only domains which are dense with cursed energy to a certain degree will bypass the limitless. So are all domains expansions dense enough to bypass infinity. (This info was from ep 7 of JJK btw.) So I am not so sure that all domains bypass infinity. Anyone can object, I will try my best to be open to it.

I can see how you would think that but domain expansions in general are just portrayed to inherently be more potent than infinity for a couple reasons 1. Gojo's statement that attacks will ALWAYS hit unless you have specific counters (simple domain and domain expansions) 2. Jogo has no idea how potent Gojo's infinity is because he was just introduced to it, therefore his remarks about being able to bypass it most likely stem from his understanding of domain expansions in general 3. If it was about potency of cursed energy, there wouldn't be a character in the verse that would be able to beat Gojo's infinity even with Domains considering the fact that Gojo outclasses the verse in CE levels and manipulation together

I see, definitely agree with all three points, especially the second point, Jogo was just introduced to Gojo's abilities and does not fully grasp the Infinity, as evident from his confusion after Gojo's demo and explanation ( likely for increasing attack's effect due to binding vow or just him trolling.) So I guess I gave Jogo's line too much emphasis. now this is off topic but i find it hilarious that Jogo's name is the alphabets of Gojo re arranged. Your argument is definitely on point as usual.

*Spoiler for chapter 170 below* I´m really curious about Megumi´s domain. It will be interseting to see if trnasforming a pre-existing space into your domain instead of creating an artificial space for it will have any effects on the usual rewards that come with Domain Expansion. It seems that at the very least it helps him refine the domain because it removes the step of creating a barrier. He can instead focus on how to structure it on the inside.

For Megumi to do what Sukuna did he needs to learn to do barrier first and then make a binding vow to sacrifice the barrier for whatever power-up. For the binding vow, you need to make a big sacrifice for a big advantage.

Yes, though Hollow Purple might be able to possibly tear through some of Sukuna's Domain with it's Mass/Spatial Erasure and create a space for Gojo to stay in without getting shredded by Cleave and Dismantle spam. Though this is just a hypothetical since all we know about his usage of HP right now is deleting matter and opponents, but Spatial Erasure can be used in many ways.

He does lose cursed energy, its just an extremely small amount. Say a technique takes 100 units of cursed energy, it would cost gojo 0.1 units instead. So he can theoritcally run out of cursed energy if he uses too many techniques of high cost, ie domain expansion and techniques inside it.
