What's your opinion on reflector assessor? I find that it plays a lot like engi, except the mining is a bit more manual, and his upgrades seem cheaper for what they give. He moves faster and can haul giant clusters of resources with low investment.

Assessor is very annoying to play in my opinion and in the opinion of most top players, but if played well can absolutely rival Engineer. The current top score in Fixed Cobalt is played as Assessor.

How could you not upgrade the teleporter? It brings all resources and you up to the surface quickly. That means you can mine longer.

It doesn't teleport resources nearly quickly enough, meaning I'd still need to take a ton of trips to the surface. Regardless, here's what gadget choices look like at top level play currently: resource converter (iron -> iron early, switch to making cobalt later in endless mode), condenser, lift (mostly for the speed boost), auto cannon (shotgun upgrade path), spire in more or less that order. The proximity meter is likely also competitive in all prestige modes. For countdown mode, I currently am taking only converter, condenser, and auto cannon, and for miner mode you probably still want to shred everything. The teleporter is largely not worth taking as it means you can't get converter + condenser, and you can just use the eye cave (one way teleporter). Pro mode (unlocked by 1000 points) allows you to set gadget and cave order, so you can get the gadgets in the order I listed every time.

Laser is a lot better than sword late game? Is that why the global high score for endless is 188,682 with the sword, second is 139,362 with Tesla and Laser comes in at 3rd with 134,038? Am I missing something or isn’t sword MUCH better than laser considering the 54k gap in the leaderboard between first(sword) and third(laser)?

@@lulnenkoIn the video, at 7:53, you also said mining out materials increases difficulty. Does the effect trigger upon breaking the materials from the rock or bringing the material to the surface? If I save a lot until later, then mine it all at once, will the difficulty spike?

@@bradsmith6019 this has since been removed. Difficulty increase is no longer tied to mining edit: I believe it still does work this way in relic hunt. The difficulty increase is triggered when mining, not when bringing it to the surface.
