In my '02 Grand Caravan, this fuse wasn't blown, it was corroded open. It did not have that weird cap on it.

I know this is a old video and I found it trying to maybe the reason that my reverse and cargo light don’t work but my truck is black and blue as well and I was hoping to find out where u got that dome light black and blue housing

It is the stock dome light, I sprayed it with primer then duplicolor body matched paint.

Mine isnt blowing fuse. My interior lights wont turn off. I wish there was more answers than just replacing door jamb switch in other forums etc.. I did. It did nothing. No help here

I had the same exact problems as this guy, and i finally traced all the wires to a wire harness under the drivers seat, they have obviously been arcing and sparking for quiet some time, i even kept constantly blowing my IDO fuse, so anyway how i fixed my problem was to cut out the previous mentioned wire harness (under drivers seat) and replace it with 2 - 4way trailer harnesses in its place. Problem solved, been perfect for at least 8 months now.

Hey dually I own a 98 ram I'm having problems with light switch that operates dome, head lights, dash lights. My column and dash started smoking and it melted the wires behind switch about six inches down after pigtail and I loss dash lights, and radio. As it happened dome stayed on with a annoying rapid ding sound and I still have headlights and I've replaced all fuses but everytime I turn it over it starts smoking again. Any help would be appreciated please?
@BlueDually4x43 жыл бұрын
If its smoking in the column you probably have a couple of shorts in your electrical. Only thing you can do is disconnect the battery and trace your wiring harness to see where it is shorting out.

@@BlueDually4x4 that is what I've been on for two days haven't found anything under hood but as before found what melted behind switch but nothing else from there to rear was curious if I was to cut melted part out and rewire it back to new pigtail and switch would it do it again?

Why does the fuse that controls the dome like fuse number 13 keep on burning the fuse whe I buy a new one ?
@BlueDually4x43 жыл бұрын
Likely it has a short in the wire and is just grounding out or the amp draw of the lights is to high for the fuse.
