This is very cool! I don’t have very many distress inks, a mix of oxides and regular distress ink, but I can see this being a lifesaver in storing as my collection grows.

I just ordered 1 of each storage kit for the distress inks and oxide inks. your solution is genius! Totally worth the investment given you provide everything needed to set up the storage boxes. When I only had 8 ink pads it was easy to figure out which domed foam went to which ink pad, but alas! with my larger collection, the situation has gotten problematic. Thanks for putting these kits together. So smart!

This is a fantastic idea. Since the last color of Distress Oxide has been revealed, I can plan for it with these boxes. The great thing is, your kit is all inclusive! Thank you!

I purchased bead storage boxes with the round containers. Perfect fit. They go in upside down so I just open and attach no handling them. I created the labels on my Cricut for each one. I have a 3 tier craft cart that holds my oxides, oxide cases and brushes. When I ink blend I just roll the cart over to my table. Thanks for sharing your storage solution

Wonderful idea. I am just deciding whether to go with handle for each or this. This seems too good not to try. I have terrible handwriting so I would take it one step further and either label with my brother label maker or my Cricut. Likely label maker as the transfer sheets via Cricut may pull up the colour as you burnish them down. But, you could try a sample first to decide. lol Thank you for sharing.

Just found you (via Pinterest - where else?!) and this is genius! I've been looking an easy-to-do system for my Distress inks, and this is perfect. Thanks so much for designing such a great system! PS - I LOVE your handwriting!

Amy: You're a delectable genius. When you revisit your system for a revision? Could you please consider having full-on adhesive on the backs of your blank circles -- with die-cut backing papers, so the sticky side isn't "open" to the world until you peel off the "round backing paper" and stick the inked circle onto your storage box? I've had Staples-type products (USA store) that stuck thoroughly, for years. (Labels, highlighting s tickets -- brand: AVERY in the USA). Love your mind, thank you!!!

Great idea! Until you fill your boxes you could use Press'n Seal to protect your swatches on the outside of the containers.

Love this idea...how are you handing the 'rainbow' order as Tim adds new colors to the line? - that is what always kicks my butt - :)
@jenniferlarsonjaylaplans8 ай бұрын
Tim has released all the oxide colors with scorched timber being the last one. He has said there won’t be anymore (at least not for oxides)

Hello. Just found this video, and I love it. I know it's two years old, so I hope you see this comment. Just in case, I did leave you an email on your website. I just put 2 cases in my cart but sent an email to ask questions before making a purchase. I have like 48 distress oxide inks and only 14 distress inks. I have like 4 of Tim Holtz ink storage trays. I have about 60 or more flat brushes. Zero dome ones. Will this kit still work with the flat brushes as well? And will the ink pads fit back into my case with the circle on it. I know it will not fit in the case with the flat circle or dome circle attached to the ink lids. Would love your advice. Thanks for your help regarding this matter.

Hi! Send me an email - laylebymail(at)gmail(dot)com and send a photo of the flat brushes - not sure that I know what you’re referring to 😀

So, I finally got my hands on the blending tool storage kit from Layle. I'm only just beginning to build my distress oxide colors stash and at this point only have two - Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass. I'd like to start setting up my storage, but am flummoxed by how to organize it as I grow my stash. I don't want to end up with blue and pink together for example on one paper. Does anyone have any tips for how to go about this as you build your stash so that by the end it still looks organized. (I'd love to keep mine in ROYGBIV order). I'm just hoping someone has done this and has good advice. Thanks!
