Domestic electric circuits are electrical systems designed for use in homes or residential buildings. These circuits are responsible for distributing electrical power to various appliances, lights, and other electrical devices within the household. Understanding the basic components of domestic electric circuits is crucial for ensuring safety and proper functioning.
1. Main Switch: The main switch is a crucial component of the electrical distribution board (or fuse box) in a home. It is used to disconnect the entire electrical supply to the house. In case of an emergency or when performing maintenance, the main switch can be turned off to cut off power to the entire household.
2. Earthing: Earthing is a safety measure that involves connecting the electrical system to the ground to prevent electric shocks and protect appliances and individuals from faults. The earth wire is connected to metal parts of electrical appliances and the ground to ensure that any leakage of current is safely directed into the ground.
3. Types of Wires:
Live Wire (Phase): The live wire carries the current from the power source to the electrical appliances. It is often color-coded with brown insulation in many countries.
Neutral Wire: The neutral wire completes the electrical circuit and carries the current back to the power source (generally a power station). It is color-coded with blue insulation in many countries.
Earth Wire (Ground): The earth wire is a safety feature that provides a path for the current to flow into the ground in the event of a fault. It is usually color-coded with green and yellow stripes.
In a standard electrical outlet or socket, you'll find three slots:
The live wire is connected to the right slot.
The neutral wire is connected to the left slot.
The earth wire is connected to the bottom, or it may be connected to the metal casing of the outlet.
Proper installation and maintenance of these components are crucial for the safe and efficient operation of domestic electric circuits. Always consult with a qualified electrician if you have any concerns or need assistance with electrical work in your home.

You are literally born to be a teacher. I have never seen a teacher like you before in my life. I wish I had known you back then, when I was in university. I was not into the computational side of science, but I was really into the concepts and foundational principles of science. You know, I strongly believe that students should understand what the science is before rushing into the calculations. Doing calculations by cramming but not understanding the science behind them is, I think, spending one's precious time on a worthless game. I am grateful to you for creating those state-of-the art lessons digitally for this awesome generation of our era. much love from Ethiopia, Africa.

how the increase in voltage can decrease current as it will be then the voilation of OHM law
@carrots0414
@carrots0414 7 ай бұрын
that is valid when you talk about constant resistance. here we talk about power. P=VI. thus if voltage increases then the current will decrease for a constant power.

@@carrots0414 but in this case the resistance doesn't remains constant bcz the resistance increase with the increase in current.

Bro you are talking about ohmic conductors, ohms law is only valid if temperature is constant, transmission lines are non ohmic conductors so only power remains constant so p=iv

See for a non ohmic conductor v=ir is not applicable, in transmission lines only power is const, so here p=iv so if you increase v, I will automatically reduce
