*Solid, **Fastly.Cool** and gets the job done. For rooms where window-mounted air conditioning is not an option, this works very well. Easy set up, rapid cooling, and great design.*

Nice job, fellas. Love that you included the pitfalls. Probably saved me a day of frustration. Well done!

thanks for sharing, so if I understand correctly, there is a fan in this so it can be used solely for air circulation vs. air conditioning? So there wouldn't really be a need for an extra roof fan then.... also, how loud do these run in air conditioning mode?

Hi, i am writing from El Salvador and i am curious on how was this unit installed electrically speaking,,, did you connect to truck batteries, or added seperate batteries? did you use invertors? hwo many watts? how did you feed the electricity of this unit,? any comments are welcome

Thank you for this video, helped me with my installation in my Promaster, now I just need to get everything wired up. Now that you’ve had it for a while do you have any observations you can share? Have you had any issues with it, leaks, condensation issues etc? How are you enjoying it? Also I’d like to add to anyone trying this to be careful not to over-torque those three bolts, I ended up cracking the metal frame of the air distribution box using a torque wrench to try to get to 40-50 ft-lbs as recommended:(

Sliding the ac unit is not recommended? You can damage the gasket, also wtf didnt even show install...clickbait bs title

Are you installing this dometic a/c to run only off of solar? I'm trying to figure out best how to power my van to run one of these a/c's & everything else that goes in a van. :)
@firpofutbol5 жыл бұрын
Did you use foam gasket to also seal perimeter of the AC? Or did you only seal the opening? The special gasket for opening looks like it conforms to protrusion on roof, also where did you purchase it? Links to both products would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

How do you power that beast?
@GoranMilici4 жыл бұрын
It doesn't use that much 22000 starting and then about 12000. I got a generator because it would just drain the battery bank. The fridge does a good job at that.
@KellyZullo3 жыл бұрын
ty, did you need to put any sealer or caulk on the outside/ roof>? Or is the gasket self sealing?
@davidfromtexas96816 жыл бұрын
Hey guys, looking awesome thus far! I have a question about your A/C install. I didn’t note that you did any bracing or supports for the A/C. Do you find that to be a problem? I guess driving around for a bit may tell if any leaks come up from the movement. I want to do the same but that concerns me.
@twoguysinavan93456 жыл бұрын
Hey David! The unit is braced against the insulation and the steel ribs on the ceiling on the inside. The AC came with a really thick rubber/foam gasket to put on the outside, we put two of them in place and compressed them really tight with the three long screws that come with the unit for that purpose. So far there has been no leaks

Hey guys. When you drive can you have the Air/Con working?
@twoguysinavan93455 жыл бұрын
Ciaran Watt technically, yes we could, but it would drain the batteries very quickly. This setup is meant to be used while plugged-in into shore power

Hey, awesome video thanks, there's so few out there about this tropic. Did you really need two gaskets? It looks like one would have still handled the rib of the van?
@twoguysinavan93455 жыл бұрын
Luke Rhodes we figured it’s better to be safe than sorry so we went with two of them. I’m sure a single gasket would do just fine

How many amp hours should you have to run ac?
@twoguysinavan93456 жыл бұрын
Not really sure but it’s a ridiculous amount of amp hours and it definitely isn’t recommended as it’ll discharge the batteries too quickly causing possible damage and shortening their life span. Our AC is meant to be run on shore power or generator.
@MrsMelissaRich6 жыл бұрын
Solar power is a good option too
@redlinedeath5 жыл бұрын
Shore or a generator is needed. You COULD run solar, but if this thing runs 70v and you have a MASSIVE solar aray(like... An rv roofs worth) that runs 35-40v input to 700-1k ah, it'll run. But you will dramatically affect battery life. Keep in mind, those numbers require 7-10 deep cycle or lithium batteries, and i dont imagine it will run on solar for more than a short night. Then youre stuck trying to charge a huge array of batteries once youre moving. Very taxing on your charging system. And dont forget the very high watt inverter you'll need, plus something called a soft start to not damage ypur inverter.
@redlinedeath5 жыл бұрын
Last point. If your enormous expensive solar system charges at 35-40v but the system runs 70ish v... Well, you get the point.

You don't know much, why you making a training videos. Go watch ⌚ some training videos. This is the Wrong A.C., VERY power hungry, will eat up your battery. You need a 5,000 Btu window unit. That you "mount"on a "back door". The little 12 volt fan is 120 volts & 3.5 amps (1/3 hp.) 120 × 3.5 = 420 watts, this is almost what a 5,000 BTU window A.C. uses. Always drill 4 ROUND "holes" then cut ✂ the straight line cuts. Otherwise you will get cracking of the corners, especially when the 100 pounds of the A.C. unit is "bouncing up & down".
