3:10 'Treason Agasint Byzantium' indeed. And this is why I have it set to auto pause after battle. Having to unpause after every 1k wipe is absolutely worth it, if it means I don't miss key moments like this.

You're right, subjects do get increased liberty desire when they regain territory from rebels. It's annoying, but it kinda makes sense - the rebels were fighting for their freedom, so they'd be agitating for freedom in your subject's lands. Or something.

A response from the first video, but I've not actually played vanilla EU4 since 2022! I've been actively only playing Ante Bellum, and enjoyed a successful Byzantium run there earlier this year. Went as hard into quality and morale as I could to justify naming all my armies legions.

The Annexation of the second vassal took longer due to the -2 diplomatic reputation hit you took from annexing Athen. Diplomatic reputation is important if you want to annex vassals quickly.

I started a byz game yesterday and have all of Greece I fought Venice ottomans Serbia and then hungary because they took northern Bulgaria and I have 5 Anatolian Provences

EU4 needs a function to press a hotkey and advance 1 day, 3 days, a week, a month; it's what I'm doing with my pause button most of the time anyway. It would avoid ambiguous inputs where the game pauses and you unpause by mistake, too.

I hope you'll forgive some back seat gaming. I'd core germiyan lands myself. You've already got permaclaims and you're set up nicely to get a claim on Karaman to reduce to a vassal (remembering to make it give up its cores/claims inside Byz). You could consider taking Bessarabia for yourself, though that will introduce the cossacks and reduce your crownland. Whilst you've got Austria tied up in a war with you, you could attack Genoa as I'm sure you have claims on Chios and Lesbos. You could tell Bulgaria to siege down Genoese Crimea. Of course , you'd have to peace out with any states inside the Empire who are Polish allies or the game will probably stop you attacking another HRE member whilst in a war with your Austrian ally. I am sure you were thinking that you should have taken Edirne in that last wear with the ottos, when you saw that 1k raised in Edirne and remove the Bulgarian rebels.

If there is a mod that allows you to start the game as the Roman Empire, I'd love to see it allied with the Chinese and conquer Eurasia. My ancestors, the Romans, had diplomatic and commercial contacts with the Chinese, and this is mindblowing

Ah that always feels good when you realize your enemy went Bankrupt. And knowing the AI there's a good chance they'll always BE bankrupt after that because they'll refuse to cut costs or anything and still can't support all the armies and navies they raise, etc, etc, etc. Truly just nation ruined and mission accomplished.
