I love the idea of ICP and I’m a huge advocate of open source, decentralised networks but one thing I thought of is if unlocked AI models can fall in to the wrong hands couldn’t someone run that model on ICP network as an unstoppable piece of software? This could be used as a reason for controlling networks by governments or institutions, can the ICP network determine who has accessed which smart canisters and tie them to someone’s personal identity?

The tech is great but here is a constructive metaphor. Whole Foods or McDonalds. Of the two which has the better business model. Golden Arches hands down. Adoption will only progress if advertising is placed in. These half heartened presentation from an over worked sleep deprived CEO only adds to the problem. Solana is McDonalds in this case; garbage tech, fake processing number, lackluster ecosystem and yet I suspect by 2025 it will stand at 800 a token as ICP breaks below 20.

How many decades has mcdonalds been alive vs how many years has whole foods been alive? Yeah ICP need more advertising but its not even comparable to whole foods because its younger than whole foods in your analogy. Its just getting started. We need time and projects to come onboard organically to prove the use cases. Solana may well carry on but if all they keep is the meme coin market and ICP slowly takens over the compute market which encompasses web 2 and web 3 then I’ll take the bet that ICP eventually wins over Solana which can’t even store a jpeg without breaking the bank, much less produce a steady stream of successful messages at a rate of 50%.

It's a decent metaphor once the industry is well established. Solana will probably destroy itself, but there's plenty of room for good solid tech. ICP is more like a really good sitdown chain restaurant where solana will struggle to get workers.

@@ghelgi yeah, Solana is like the first van to sell burgers. Sure they can sell burgers well but you can’t upgrade solana to a full restaurante to match ICPs capabilities. ICP can eventually go from mom and pops store to franchise. TL;DR - ICP is right right now Mcdonalds before it become a franchise.
