Wasn't he the one who killed the Mirabal Sisters/Las Mariposas on my birthday (I was born in 1990 years after they died and it's also Indonesia's National Teacher's Day that has been celebrated since 1945, days after Indonesia's Independence Day in August 17th, 1945. Sorry for the long explanation)? Well, I'll be damned....

My grandparents lived under Trujillo over 20 years and they said the country was so safe from crime under him. They would punish criminals so severely that people could leave their doors wide open in the middle of the night and no one would steal or rob anything

The Parsley Massacre is a simple myth used to defame the government and legacy of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo: 1) Some say that the Massacre River got its name from that legend, but that is a lie, the Massacre River got its name in 1728, because that river was the place where a group of Spanish settlers 🇪🇦 murdered 30 French buccaneers 🇨🇵. 2) There is no evidence of the massacre, they never found bodies or any remains of the victims, the supposed photos that exist about the massacre are actually photos of other massacres that happened in other countries, the vast majority of the photos are from the police raids that happened in the municipality of Cato Manor in South Africa in 1959, also, the photos are of massacres such as the Bangladesh genocide in East Pakistan in 1971, and the Ponce massacre in Puerto Rico in 1937. In summary, the believers of the legend use the pain of others to disguise a fable. 3) Several use as an argument the fact that in the 1935 census, 52,657 Haitian immigrants were registered in Dominican territory, while in the 1950 census only 29,500 Haitian immigrants were registered, what many ignore is that in 1936, Trujillo gave 1,628 Square Kilometers to Haiti, so that the Haitian president of that time (Sténio Vincent) would not give refuge to the communist rivals of the Trujillo government, therefore, the decrease in the Haitian population between 1935 and 1950 is due to the fact that in 1936, Trujillo gave more than 1,628 Square Kilometers of Dominican territory to Haiti, which obviously greatly decreased the Haitian population in the DR, not to mention the fact that many Haitians returned to their country because they could not stand the Trujillo government. 4) Some say that Hamilton Fish reported the massacre to the United States government, but that is impossible, since Hamilton Fish died in 1893 (44 years before the alleged massacre). The complaint that Trujillo received from the US government was actually for fraud. 5) The oldest book about the massacre was written in 1999 (62 years after the massacre and 38 years after Trujillo's death), while the vast majority of Internet articles that talk about the massacre were written between 2012 and 2017, the oldest was written in 2002. 6) The exact number of victims is unknow, as all numbers are based on pure speculation, and as I said before, there are no photos or videos of the urban legend, just rumors. The only thing that is known is that 500 Haitian criminals were executed in the provinces: Bánica, Dajabón, Jimaní, Comendador, Pedernales and Azua. These executions were caused by the fact that these Haitians were stealing and killing animals, attacking farmers, destroying and looting farms, etc. Those Haitians were criminals who were destroying Dominican territory, not to mention the fact that the vast majority were illegals who crossed only to rob and attack Dominican farmers. So, the only thing Trujillo did was protect his country. 7) Some say that black Dominicans died, but that is a lie, there is no evidence to prove this, not to mention that it is a contradiction of the legend, since if they were so Dominican, how did they not know how to pronounce a word as simple as Parsley? Easy, because they were not Dominicans. 8) How did Trujillo manage to hide thousands of corpses so easily? How did Trujillo manage to save himself from the media after committing that alleged act in 1937? Easy, because it never happened, the only thing that happened was the murder of several Haitian criminals, criminals who were robbing, attacking and murdering in foreign territory, any responsible president would have done the same, unfortunately the communists created a fairy tale, which until this day, it's used to tarnish the name of Trujillo and the Dominican Republic.

@@1i_side The vast majority of the photos of the Parsley massacre are actually photos of the Sharpeville massacre that happened in South Africa 🇿🇦 in the year 1960. In fact, in the last population census before the massacre, which was carried out in the year 1936, the number of Haitian residents in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 was only 8,492, not to mention that in the United States Department of State 🇺🇲, there is a document from the Catholic Church of Haiti 🇭🇹 from the year 1937 (Year of the massacre), where between 3,000 to 4,000 deaths were counted in the massacre, something that makes sense, since in Bánica (The place where the massacre began), there were only 300 deaths.
