Few questions! Did you feel pretty safe? Leaving things In room and just overall exploring? Also did you have to make reservations for any of the restaurants? I’m going in June!

I felt very safe .. I did keep important things in the safe but other than that nothing went missing. We didn’t explore in our own however when we went to the shops driven by the resort we felt safe and the people were very friendly. The restaurants didn’t take reservations it was first come first serve. We mostly enjoyed the buffet as it was huge. The Italian restaurant and steak house were also very good.

Thanks for the video! We are going to Riu Republica in 10 days and I would like to know where the cigar/booze shop was and how you arranged to get there?

We organized it with our Sunwing rep.. we were told days and times they had a taxi available. We booked a time it was free. I’m not sure if you can simply go to the front desk to book a time.

They gave us a little history presentation about Dominican and the cigar industry.. then gave us a cigar and drinks to try .. we got to shop and took our ride back home .. it was great
