Aero Engine Inspiration at Bicester Scramble

It's time for another day out at the fabulous Bicester Scramble car show, but this time I've taken Jon with me! I can't wait to see what he thinks of this place...
Bicester Heritage is full of classic cars, motorbikes and everything in between...The perfect place to get some inspiration to take back to the workshop for my Porsche 356 restoration project, or of course...the Edwardian race car!

Hi Dom '. You're definitely educating Jon ! He made the comment about the Bristol having an aircraft interior . That's because it was the Bristol Aircraft Company's first production motor car . Bizarrely , it utilised the B.M.W engine from the pre-war 308 . The grille pays homage to the manufacturer . However , as Bristol had " pinched " the engine they wasted enormous funds converting all of the metric fittings into imperial ! .....Have you got the spot welder working yet? The guarantee is just about to expire !! Take care Dom .

Looks like you both had a great day. My grandfather had 2 Frazer Nashes. One is now in Canada in the care of a relative. They are brilliant cars. Fast as anything modern, but with no differential so have to be drifted to make rapid progress round bends.

I drove one of those Bristols when I was about 18 in the sixties. The direct steering was a revelation. I have never re-experienced this sensation.

My first bicycle was old when I got it, needed a bit of work. I boiled the chain in oil because some of the links went round in pairs! Perfect after that. Rode it for a few years after it was fully fettled , then sold it to a neighbour for more than I paid for it.

Paired with a Townes Aston Martin Lagonda, behind the Husler? Except the rear end looks different from other Lagondas I've seen. Perhaps, the later models (this one's an '89 or '90 - 'G' plate) had a different rear light design?
