I can't begin to tell you how much I admire your determination and hard work to maintain the historical authenticity of the Vespa. Most KZbin "restorers" take the quickest, easiest, and shiniest approach to a project, but you're attempting something much harder: putting the Vespa in top condition mechanically while maintaining the integrity of its vintage appearance. Very nice work. I commend you for your work ethic and for the quality of your restoration.

Watched the previous episodes and fully intend to watch the remainder plus all other videos. That’s the problem with something that grabs my interest, it seems to be half way thru a project so it’s a task to see previous ones. Loving this KZbin channel Dom. Well done mate.

A mate of mine rode a rat 150 Vespa in NZ in the early '70s. The clutch would sometimes slip; sometimes grab, when taking off. Falling off in the middle of a wheelstand was a regular occurrence!

Another great video. Looking forward to seeing the Vespa come to life. Will you do the same for the Land Rover restoration? I could watch this for hours. It's always fascinating to see stuff being brought back to life. One of my passions is Antique Clocks ( I've got nearly 30) and I'm always in awe of the Clockmaker I use and the work that he does.

Hi Dom Loving the new channel. I have two questions; What is the working temperature in your workshop? Why did you choose the Vespa as a project?
@DominicChineas3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely freezing at the time if year! I have no heating, and on real sun gets in, so quite often its colder than outside
@trevorlee85093 жыл бұрын
Hi mate I've been a scooter restorer for 30 years now and I'd like to say great job! Couple of questions did you grease your brake pivot pin? It really helps down the line if it needs to come out again. And did you use any kind of adhesive on your grips? A little squirt of spray paint or lacquer helps them slide on then stick in place! Awesome Job...
@zacbeech79603 жыл бұрын
I did think the same , most likely be pulling those levers and gear throttle tubes back out when wiring and put cables in
@DominicChineas3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message, Yes absolutely everythings been greased, I totally expect to be taking it all apart many more times! I do always try to think of the next person that may be working on it, and making it easier for them than it was for me!!

@anthonymason9123 жыл бұрын
piaggio logo on grips should be facing up i think, its your scooter if you like original paint look its up to you, certainly fashionable to keep ratty look at moment, older scooter are simple to work on and easy to fix, if you can find repo parts and they actually fit when you get them, so annoying when they dont. gotta a ratty yellow fan cover in shed might fit?

As a Mod in 1965, anything less than two dozen mirrors, tank aerial with foxtail, windshield and spare tyre rack would be derisible. With that extra weight and drag my poor old Li175 could only reach about 30mph. But style and image was the thing! :)
