I understand those criticism he gets because many people expect him to play to his strength like a ten and not a workhorse like Henderson used to do for Liverpool. I don't think its his decision to make in this new Slot system, and he's been doing pretty well, working his socks off covering the entire opposite half.

The problem is that he has been seen as Liverpool's Palmer, Odegaard, or De Bruyne role (or Fernandes but)... which he isn't for now (he was during his first 2 months last year). His working rate and pressing are amazing, but that's not really what is expected from him. He needs more goals and assists, to be more dangerous in a higher part of the pitch. He goes down too much on the pitch to press and carry due to Mac Allister's lack of speed and carrying the ball, due to his own defensive tasks. But it starts to be better for Szoby, with Gravenberch carrying the ball through the lines and breaking lines with passes.

The problem is the same as last year. His assists are not coming due the attackers are not finishing well. Salah is selfish he wants to score always but not consistent. I would like to see Dom to play more on the other side of the pitch, he looks more connected with Diaz and Gakpo.

never once did he as the AM pass directly and accurately to our main strikers for a goal threat. the closest was a thru ball expecting nunez to run past the defender on the other side in a short distance to score instead of passing directly to him. he intetionally go for an easy pass to the wingers when his bread and butter as an AM is the thru ball to the main striker which he has not been doing for many games hence why Jota only scored once in 5 games and worst still Nunez who rarely played gets scapegoated. Gravenberch and macca should share the blame too just like the wingers who only go for glory when they are suppose to provide for the main striker too.
