By the time he finished his greetings/ introduction, I would have made all 4 cuts using the fences supplied with the Festool system. Seems like a lot of work and hardware to solve a problem that 95% of the time, doesnt exist.

The application you show is easy enough with the built in settings on the tool. Where this would be useful is with a long run instead of the cross stops. Or when making a plunge in the middle of a panel. You could add a rail square and parallel guides to make repeatable cuts for a shelf or divider

Also it would be better if those stops had a ball detent. Make it so you can move from stop to stop while keeping two hands on the machine

You don't need any fancy jigs for mid panel dominos for a fixed shelf, it's very easy. You strike a line where you want your shelf, clamp the shelf flat down to the side along the line, then plunge using the sole of the machine as the reference into the side and shelf.

@@coolbugfacts1234 yes I’ve been to 3 of Sedge’s training classes when they still had them. I understand what is possible with that machine

Why didn’t he just say …. We’ve got a 3D printer and invent a dodgy solution to solve a non problem in order to justify the 3D printer …. For that reason not for me ….😂😂

This seems like a lot of work to replicate what the machine already does with the flaps. And you don't need to do every mortise on the tight setting, one per joint is almost always enough, just to keep it aligned.

How to complicate an easy operation.

The obvious issue with this is the guide rail wobbles all around you have nothing keeping it locked in place. I saw it move several times just during the demo. Make an alignment stop for that... and you have a better product

You need to go back to the drawingboard on this one boys

An awkward solution to a problem that can be solved in much simpler ways.

Fastcap, please start using clip on mics during presentations. I know it’s “lean” to just film and post from a phone, but it’s not value to the end user when the audio is bad. They make simple iPhone compatible mics without any additional work other than plugging it into the phone.

actually used one on this video. Might try a different brand of clip on mic. Thank you

If you were doing a lot of repeat work with same widths etc would be great. The example which is just what it is pencil and using tool alone would have been fine

You never mentioned securing or even lining up the fence to board being machined???

On the face cuts, between the track thickness and the 5mm (jig) plate thickness you lose a lot of depth of cut. What is the saluting for that?
@FastCapLLC8 ай бұрын
@greysondarrow3095 Thanks for your patience! We reached out to Lukas, here is his response: You lose 10mm between the fence and the slide. So say you are using a 40mm Tennon you could set your depth to 25, and your face cut hole would be 15, side cut 25, and it would fit a 40 perfectly. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Yeah Nah too much play and plastic clip look like they will break easily, how do I use the Domino without it ?, same way I am using it currently, don't need this complicated gadget.
@LB75Player8 ай бұрын
Way too much flex going on for that to be accurate.
@Tech-3D Жыл бұрын
Unhelpful, complicated to use and slowing down work with the otherwise well designed Domino workflow

For me, it’s not the audio quality, it’s the monotone droning voice. It’s like he’s saying “All you have to do is this, this, and this“, to justify the product. If it’s good, it’s good. Don’t drone on about it.

looks way too fiddley and the slop in the sled looks way too loose. The fence moving around way too much easy to lose alignment

Had to stop watching due to terrible sound quality. Did no one watch this before sending it out. Really hard to understand what he was saying. Painful to listen to
