Dominos - Blender Animation (Cycles) 1080p

Domino (~25k) Animation, made with Blender, rendered with Cycles.
sound design made with real dominos (in a smaller scale)
music: Mozart - (Jupiter) Symphony No. 41 II. Andante cantabile
render time about (!) 50 hours (GTX 660 Ti)
bake time ~ 4h (x6 1090T)
1920x816 (2.35:1), 30fps
took about 2 months to finish

Awesome animation! My only critique is that your first shot tracked the dominoes motion a bit too accurately, and made it difficult to tell if there was motion. I'd recommend slowing the camera down a bit so the effect moves from the left side of the frame to the right side, indicating motion.

Really cool! But the most awesome part was the sound effects of the dominos, how you did that? Blender has the ability to render sound? or was put in post-production? I don't get it.

Rojo Thanks! =)No, sound effects were made with real dominos ;) I rebuilt the animation in a smaller scale and duplicated some foley sounds in sound mixing to create the illusion of more dominos, worked pretty nice.

cameracomputercorbin It's in the render tab, where you can change resolution etc., too.

Adão Pereira Junior What do you mean with dimensions? Blender Units? Mass of dominos is 25, collision shape is "Box" with a Friction of .7. Hope that helps.

nice scaling! We used the same Technique for a Commercial. Blender Rigid Body System with Mobile Phones as Child Objects, parented to Dominoes. 95% of all Phones are CGI. Rendered with Octane - Not Cycles: TransferJet Stories 3 - The Domino keep up the good work!
