When you're still young, in high school, still learning basics, jackhammers and shit seem really hard. Like really really hard. But once you get more experienced, you realize that maybe 90% of bboys on an intermediate or higher level can do jackhammers lol. Once you break through that skill barrier, you realize it takes 2 months to learn jackhammers, and 8 years to develop style and originality. Just cuz moves are hard to you right now, doesn't mean they are more difficult in the long run. I can do jackhammers, flares, handhops all day. But nothing is harder than coming up with a fresh footwork/tech set that flows.

+CypressDahlia Jack hammers are easy yes.. I don't feel heavy when I do them but I can only do 2-3 any tips?
@CypressDahlia8 жыл бұрын
BBoy King K Don't hop directly in the center of your spin. It's not like a hopping handglide. When you hop, your hand should move backwards slightly. That will throw your spin slightly off-center and keep the momentum going.
@NejisBreakingVlogs8 жыл бұрын
+CypressDahlia so... it's the same thing as crickets but with one hand? hop at the end where my hand can't spin?
@CypressDahlia8 жыл бұрын
BBoy King K Yes. and move your hand back slightly. Don't keep it in the same spot.

Tata RIPPED it!!! True entertainer, NYC-style!! Love it, and I understand why he lost... if it was an average audience judging him, Tata would have won, but because we've got bboy legends judging, Domkey won on foundation and fundamentals. Both were great.

Point made. I understand. And so you know, I've watched MANY of Domkey's sets on YTube since this one and have grown to like his style a lot. He has good battle character to him. ;-)

I know everyone is hating on tata, but to be fair, his 2nd round was straight fire. Although Donkey fired backed with a better set. I think what really lost tata this battle was his 3rd round, he crashed twice, pretty messy, while Donkey kept it clean with his stack combos. Anyways, great battle between the 2.
@seymourglass2612 жыл бұрын
There were very few unanimous decisions all night, but look how happy Ronnie is at the end, haha. Props to both bboys, but I think Tata's really young, so his move range will catch up to his athleticism in coming years. Domkey definitely deserved this one, even if the crowd was all about amplitude over nuance.

domkey was so obviously got that. Just tata is so huge yet still does moves lyk backflip to jackhammer makes him a marvel to watch. But style over power all day everyday.
@Dieje11 жыл бұрын
bigger than 6,2 just seen him this weekend and he is HUGE! and super swole now too. Domkey is reallly short as well maybe a little abppve 5 '2" bit mot much.
@BboyYellowFlash11 жыл бұрын
I Don't understand all of the comments on either of them crashing. Domkey had 1 slip up the entire time and it wasn't really a crash more of a little flow issue. he had plenty of dynamic to counter Tata and he was actually dancing rather than doing a bunch of flashy tricks, which honestly he had quite a few flashy tricks in there but they were on beat and flowed straight out of what he just did. the only possible critique i could give to domkey would be that he over used his flares a little bit
@SecretSpots11 жыл бұрын
To me, in terms of style and what it looks like, yeah. However, when guys like Thesis do it, it looks great. I give Domkey credit for doing it well too. Understand, I wasnt taking ANYTHING from Domkey in my comment. I actually have grown to like watching Domkey a lot in his battles. He's super consistent and hits all the fundamentals. ;)
@deo.strengthspan.project12 жыл бұрын
I feel like Domkey took all the rounds. Personally, I think Domkey's content is so unique and interesting, I can't help but prefer his style. He also was clean and looked completely comfortable.
@MrBboyShox11 жыл бұрын
Domkey innovated a new type of breakdancing that is extremely difficult to do. If you notice he basically created a way to bboy that doesn't require the use of basic footwork. So once you can do that, then you can judge him.
@MSCJmn12 жыл бұрын
Yeah both Bboys had a few flaws and crashes, but you gotta realize they did pretty well at scrambling it up. Counter acting on the flaw parts and just keep continuing in their sets. Good battle and pretty well hyped aswell, thats how battles should start out.

Surprisingly I think the top 16th battle was the toughest for Domkey, in the finals he had no problem, but here he could had lost to Tata. Great job to both bboys though, much respect
@httohot11 жыл бұрын
maybe hes talking about the early days of bboys n threading where everyone thesis included was not smooth in thier threading even dyzee wasnt perfect but sometime in the last few years its gotten much better. People have very smooth transitions now and dont get tangled on themselves while trying to match the beat or freestyle to something faster than usual. I hated it a few years ago and then i finally saw some cats do it well and now im in love. Dont mean i can do it but it looks gracefull

If Domkey had gone all-out style-head while Tata kept to his flips and blowups, Tata would have won. But Domkey had plenty of tough powermoves too, so Domkey took it.

@techno-disciple12 жыл бұрын
I think the booing was aimed at the judges- not Domkey. The battle was a good one but not a total blowout. B-boying is about evolution. Moves get more complex and stronger. You can't hate on Tata because he excels on the power moves and freezes. By the way I was there as well.

For a second there, I was really sure Tata would take it, but he kinda crashed at the end of his last set (If he held that freeze a little longer, he could have won IMO). Another sick battle, respect to both bboys. I'm glad domkey won the whole thing.

Because the crowd chooses if they like someone or not. : / even if i disagree with the judges i wouldn't boo the dancers because i have respect for my fellow bboys.

i was there and all the bboys and i were in the front watching. we were cheering when domkey won. everyone in the back was just booing because tata was doing power and flips while dom showed originality and style. you got pros judging. don't boo if you don't know nothing about the bboy community -_-
@TheBboySpooky12 жыл бұрын
Now you're just going off topic. Yes, people look up to and have role models from their own race. But the reason all people look up to Jackie Robinson and Dr. King are because of what they DID. Under the circumstances, they did extraordinary well and just about everyone respects them for that. The reason people, of all races, are fans of Tata is because he is very good at what he does, NOT just because he is black. If he were white or Asian, the same amount of black people would like him.
@bboyreyn597512 жыл бұрын
You're obviously a rookie. Look at the musicality, the sets, the smoothness of both bboys. It is arguable that TATA had more musicality because of his beat his but if you hadn't looked closely, he was scrapping his sets during the set. He was more concentrated on hitting beats that he probably didn't know that he was foregoing smoothness and other things. Also his sets were too similar, in RBC1, he wouldn't last. it's all about making sets last. Domkey varied his every set and it was smooth.
@gogogoooooooooo11 жыл бұрын
Tata: Good musicality for hitting the beats, really dynamic but not enough foundation. Domkey: Really original, also hit some of the beats in the beginning, really good foundation, and showed an average amount of dynamic moves. In my honest opinion, Tata might have hit the beat with dynamic moves, but flipping and doing jackhammers won't win the battle. Overall, it didn't matter who won here. I was there in the front. Both of them had the most fun during the whole competition. Peace.

I see what he means about re difficulty level, to be honest Tatas moves were more difficult but Domkeys combinations were more difficult. I guess any battle the powerhead is going to have more difficult moves but like they say, "it's not the move, it's the groove"

tatas first two rounds were good. in tatas last round was he was answering domkeys last round and he kinda crashed a couple times. i think if tatas last round were as good as his first two he would have won. just my thoughts tho

@filamBboy12 жыл бұрын
okay...obviously getting booed at any time doesn't feel good at all. i'm saying that if someone gets booed after a win, the booing shouldn't get the person all down or pissed. that just allows the haters to win.

tata won this one .... i understand domkey was sets were difficult but overall tata had this one
@KnowIdeaxPoppinCRS12 жыл бұрын
I thought Tata and Domkey were both fucking dope as hell. Why would you boo either of them?
@SecretSpots12 жыл бұрын
Why not? I call it as I see it. I'm not saying Domkey didnt kill it, I like Domkey ... I just think Tata's set showed more of a degree of difficulty overall ... and .. maybe because in my own opinion, I'm not a fan of all that "threading" (an ugly element introduced into BBoying in my opinion). BUT I do think Domkey has better top rockin for sure. ... But Tata is a strong dude and does some almost Junior-like moves that I dont see Domkey do. ... Just my opinion .....
