I was introduced to the music of Don Francisco shortly after giving my life to Christ in 1983, when I was 18. He quickly became my "go to" musician and I think I must have memorized most of his songs, I listened so often. I even got to see Don play at the Ohio State Fair around '84. I haven't listened to him in a long time but, for some reason, some of the lyrics of this song came into my mind today and I just had to look it up and listen once again. I wasn't surprised that the lyrics so easily came back. Don Francisco is a gifted lyricist and his ability to match the words with the music is amazing. It's not hard to enter a spirit of worship with his music. Thanks, Don, for using your gift to edify the Body of Christ.

Did Don Francisco ever say whose story is told first-person in the song? Whose story isn't one of faith, but the cowardice the fear of men will bring? Who, after the resurrection, then stands up "with a courage that I know is not my own?" Is this Simon Peter?

I think it's Nicodemus as he was a member of the ruling counsel who didn't approve their actions and along with Joseph washed the body of Jesus. Check John 19:38-42

I always assumed it was Nicodemus, since he was a Pharisee (John 3:1). He also rather passively stands up for Jesus in the midst of the leading priests and Pharisees when they seek to arrest Jesus (John 7:50). Maybe that's the "cowardice the fear of men will bring." After Jesus was buried, it was Nicodemus who came to the tomb with Joseph to get his body (John 19:39).

@@mikesprau6149 I had always assumed it was Joseph of Arimathea but Nicodemus makes more sense.

Which album is this from? It's not on Spotify and I can't find a full discography. I may just email Wendy and Don and ask which MP3 album to buy from Don's site.
