People can criticise his vocal performance if they wish... all I know is that I was stood in Hyde Park with tears streaming down my face listening to this man sing The Last Resort in whatever key it was in. Many artists lower the keys of songs, even when they are in their 20's, to help save the voice - good for Don for still singing at 69 years old! Can't we all just be grateful that one of the greatest singer/songwriters of the 20th century is still out there performing and sounding great, no matter whether he has lowered the key of this truly remarkable song or not?

James, When I saw The eagles tour Australia in 1995, they omitted The Last Resort from their setlist, much to my disgust. Trying to scam a ticket to his 2017 tour, and this time I expect to hear this tune goddammit! And yes, I expect to cry as well. I'm prone to a good sooky session watching the 1994 Hell Freezes Over DVD.

Brings back memories of a great day out eight months ago. Don Henley was utterly superb - Last Resort, Hotel California, Desperado - songs I've enjoyed for the best part of forty years. To witness them sung live by this wonderful singer was just incredible. And what's more, I went there expecting to see Carole King and some support act I'd never heard of (wife's idea) had only realised DonHenley was going to be there the day before!

I've been lead vocalist for close to thirty years and I can tell you that we ALL have our bad days when the vocal chords are swollen from over singing, or having a cold, sore throat etc. My biggest gripe in all the years was the freaking numb head musicians could never understand you cannot tune vocal chords, you cannot change vocal chords with new ones in between sets. Musicians always have those few songs which stretch the limits of a singers range and they will bed and bitch for you to sing at shows where the vocals are a wee bit rough, and they even bitch when they wanna play those songs in rehearsals!! Any opportunity to do tornado head hair whip! Damned posers!! LOL!! In any case, he did a great job! Remember the Eagles are a massively harmonizer band and they ain't there! Jack
