Such a sad state. I had been to Homs in 2008, it was a beautiful vibrant city. It's all turned to dust, and that mosque has inherited this empire of dust

I think you missed the point somewhat… the local man was clearly trying to respect McCullin and had plenty of space… let’s not overthink this.
