Don Norman sells the age old design process to people unfamiliar with R&D

What is "age old" about it? Those principles are still sound today. Okay, maybe except the part 34:53 where he dislikes gestures...

@@Puleczech that's just it, there's nothing new or different about what don norman sells as UX. Designers and engineers in the product world have been doing all these things forever without proclaiming it as revolutionary, just part of the regular old product development process.

@@kidkiks6134 Well, but that is true with almost anything, isn't it? People unfamiliar with those concepts simply want to learn it, it doesn't really matter how "static" the whole field is. It is like saying yoga teacher is selling age old exercise to people unfamiliar with Indian meditation practices......and?

@@Puleczech totally, and I'm all for passing good ideas along. Yoga teachers are a great example because they're always talking about the origins of their teachings...not acting like they invented them.

@@kidkiks6134 Okay, I get your beef now. But it's not like the fundamentals for digital design were perfected in 1960 or whenever. They might be taking too much credit, or not give enough credit back, I don't really know. But just the work NN have done with the knowledge base, the general education of companies over several decades and this very collection of educational videos is pretty much revolutionary on its own. And that doesn't even factor in their own contributions to broaden and advance the field... If any yoga teacher added this much value to yoga, they would be up there in the yoga books together with the origins. I mean, I can see why it's important to give credit to Henry Ford, but I don't see a point mentioning him in every video about autonomous car designs, for example...

early on before getting into it, he assumes we haven't heard of some things... film, baud.
