I'm not sure I would define Don Rickles as the epitome of comedy. He was largely unique. It's not like he spawned generations and a plethora of insult comics (perhaps he spawned a dog).

I remember as a kid in the 70's I would wake up at night with my dad laughing loudly from the living room. One night I was curious as to what could be making my dad laugh. Now my pop didn't laugh very much, so I had to see. I crept out into the hallway and peeked around at the TV. There was Don Rickles on the Tonight Show throwing insults at Johnny, Ed, and Doc. Rest in Peace Don.

@mikehike5966 жыл бұрын
I didn't take Roman14032's comment literally; I believe he was alluding to Sinatra as a powerful force one would have needed to think twice before offending. Yet if you want to get to _mano a mano,_ it seemed to me Sinatra could have held his own, particularly after his "skinny" period, toward the late 1950s-1960s. That is, he wasn't so "tiny," but - here is what a Google search said about his height: _"Around 68% of the adult male population are within 3 inches"_ of Frank, _"falling within the typical range for an adult male.”_ Frank was a bit taller than Rickles, and also James Cagney. Everything is relative. .
@TheRelger6 жыл бұрын
Mike Hike, Frank was a big shot yes but never known for being a tough guy. He’d punch the odd guy but always had his body guard around. I love Frank, not putting him down at all.
