My add-on to this tip is to make sure you’re using all of your ink tank in fights. Most of the time, people will use a bomb to cut off a route and forget to use the last 30% of their ink tank when they could have followed up and secured a push. In any case, especially if a teammate is nearby, you should be practicing how many shots/swings your waeapon can do after a bomb. This knowledge should be used in the case of retreat/a push/stalling. If you’re planning on using your bombs as random killboxes to deny entry then make sure you use your shots from your weapon to further investigate which habits come from your enemy in response to the aggression. You waste a lot of time and don’t get as many specials when you spam bombs. The whiting frames post-bomb throw don’t allow you to recover ink fast enough to merit the strategy, its better to paint around after throwing a bomb to circumvent whiting frames, be more efficient with your time, cover more routes from the enemy, and most of all - secure more specials.

I have an essay to add to this! Yay me. I’m an Inkbrush Novaeu main, but I’ve recently been learning to use the Wellstring V (super original choice for baby’s first ranged weapon, I know). Anyone who’s played a Tri-Shooter knows that they charge relatively slowly and the crystals(?) take a bit of time to blow up. This is something I have to get used to in place of spamming buttons. As a result, I have learned that I: 1. Should not always have to be directly in the way of danger to splat an opponent because I’m not literally two inches away from them. 2. Have enough time to actually think about strategy while in PVP… usually. 3. Can use the placement of the crystals to influence where the opponent is going to help teammates or lead them into a range where I can one-hit-splat them. Tri-Shooters are extremely annoying to play against because the crystals will get everywhere and limit your options in terms of where you can go- like a wall of sorts. Generally, the best thing you can do in that situation is move away from the direction that the shots are coming from and find a spot where you’ll have a better advantage. Opponents moving forward to engage me is how I’ve gotten plenty of splats as of late- I use the crystal placement to lure someone toward me, I set down a narrow line of crystals, and they are too focused on aiming at me to notice that they’re about to get blown up. It’s all about timing and placing traps relative to the opponent’s speed. In conclusion: I love the Wellstring V.

I main Vunder and cutting off movement options is one of the key strats not only for being able to take them out with the main weapon, but also for pushing enemies into mines to reduce TTK.

Provided that your teammates know the importance of painting the floor. At 1700, I still find that few players know its importance. If no one paints the floor, then it doesn't matter far left or right to aim, the opponents are free to move anywhere they want.

You can also learn people’s preferences for dodging and follow up with what they normally do. If you are unsure you can condition them in to dodging a certain way first by only attacking them on one side than switching it up.

Good technique I need to utilize more (which this advice reminded me of) is aiming for walls/cover/corners, etc where the blobs can bounce off and hit someone by proxy. Tends to catch people off guard, especially if you are also cutting off their escape routes at the same time.
