Being raised on a huge farm in the country, where everyone knew everyone, it was hard for me to fit in a neighborhood in Florida in the 60's, people were so rude, I was taught manners and kindness before first grade, Florida was nothing but tourist, they only lived there in the winter and they were all mad about something and hated children, and we had 4 precious children that I wanted to raise on the beach.Three of our children never walked, they ran their butts off at the beach and a few people didn't like that.I'm surprised we didn't get a standing ovation when leaving the beach. LOL 👾👾👾👾👾👾👿👿👿👿🏊‍♀🏄🏄

Yesssss no one is from here it’s sooo rare. lol maybe 3 out of 20 people are actually born and raised here. So we have this HUGE mix of people from other states that Floridians are judged upon lol

I have a floor lamp that I got at an auction years ago. I'm afraid to use anything on the massive shade except I brush the dust off. For me it is fine. I think the shade on yours really makes the lamp. 🥴 Yes I stay home a lot because I have no filter to my mouth.

I grew up in the suburbs of DC, Montgomery County specifically. Long story short, when my dad moved there in the early 70s, it was no where nearly as populated and congested as it is now. Once I got into high school, it really started getting more built up and congested. It was nearly impossible to do anything cause places were always so crowded, traffic was everywhere, people suck, and still suck, at driving, they are super entitled, and rude. We finally got out of there 7 years ago and even to this day I still have culture shock at how nice people are out here. I've slowly adapted to life here and will never EVER move back into a city.

Ok, that lamp is perfect for you. Stop being nice to rude people. If someone reaches over you while you’re looking at something, tell them, “ hey, I’m looking at that and you’re rude to grab something right in front of me”. I wouldn’t stand for it. Light switch covers, I buy them and paint a design on them. You’re great at DIY projects. You could design those covers to sell.

A good way to clean that lampshade is OxiClean in a big tub and let it soak in there and then air dry. You live in a Hot Pl., Florida so it will dry quickly now where I live. I live in Canada. It is cold now and we in August.

I may have been born in the big city, but my mom all said I was her southern country small town child. I was born in Los Angeles, but when I moved to the Apple Valley( in the Mojave Desert) I love that small town life. Right now I am in Houston but in a small suburb not downtown, I don't go downtown.

Our Goodwills no longer offer bags at all & I don’t think they offer paper either. We have to take our own bags as they’re eliminating plastic bags to go green. 5:47 the lamp is really cool. 7:57 too bad the purse was broken, it was interesting.

That tombstone thing, at 3:19, gave me an idea. It would look good to repaint it, give it a bit of decoration and glue it to a base, to use to display one of your potion bottles. Great deal on the lamp! The fringed shades aren't difficult to clean. I have one on a Mae West lamp, and I just use a damp microfibre cloth to wipe the main shade part and just lay the fringe in my hand and wipe it with the cloth. It looked like there were four of the silver plated wine stems, at 8:21. I would've had to snatch those. They would be cool to use to put a knee-hugger elf assemblage in each one, as a decoration for Christmas. You got some great finds, even with having to deal with the asses in the store 🤬 Maybe try backing up and "accidentally" stepping on some toes. That could open up some space, especially if they are wearing sandals 😳😂

ok I googled how to clean a vintage fringe lampshade and they a hand held steamer for the fringe and a soft toothbrush for the fabric with warm soapy water. A lot of nice things I saw at that GW.

Yes! I was just going to comment that you can use a handheld steamer, but what I have found that works better is a small brush (a little bigger than a toothbrush, but a toothbrush will work, too) with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide & dawn power wash. I am not afraid of getting the entire shade somewhat damp. I have cleaned quite a few lampshades & this way always works well for me! 😊
