I reverted 20 years AGO. ALHAMDULILLAH . Became a HADJA after 3 YEARS, i.e, I visited the HOLY GROUND built by Prophets Ibrahim and son Ismael at Makkah , Saudi Arabia on a SPONSORED TRIP. Spoke to ALLAH LARGELY IN ENGLISH then in the first 3 YEARS. But because HE ALONE OWNS ABSOLUTE POWER, I implored that I may be guided how to say it in ARABIC of which I was able to MEMORIZE IN BARELY A MONTH'S TIME. ALLAH HU AKBAR. I was never the same from then on---- Prostrate yourself , draw near . Salam dua from Jolo , lost kingdom of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo c/o Philippines .

A true muslim will know to respond to the azan ...every line of the azan is responded to...so as the call to prayer is made we muslim respond appropriately and then join the congregation for prayers or go into prayer on our own...it is better to pray in congregation and praying immediately after the azan. Making prayer during azan is discouraged. So listening to the azan and responding to it is part of the faith...and prayer after the azan is the cornerstone of faith.

I love how the professor narrated his experiences: he felt curious to see what is going on inside the Mosque, and went in, sate there, then unexpectedly the call for prayer came, and people lined up and asked him to stand with them to pray. Being a good-natured man, he did not leave, but stood up with them in line and did exactly what they did. That experience stayed with him and wanted to demonstrate it to his students.

I believe yr students now understand why we need to pray daily & that there's a reason for every step in a muslim's prayer...In short, if we could bow our heads to a king, doesnt it not make sense we should do even more to Allah, the lords of all lords, like putting our forehead onto the ground? In fact in some countries, they do that before their kings. & doesnt it not make sense that we need to thank God every day for what He has given us (thru prayers)..coz we would do so, thanking over & over again to show appreciation, to ppl who have helped us. & what God gives us is beyond imagination & recognition.
