With the EASY trick, you won't EVER need a COPPER FARM in Minecraft!
Today I will be testing a copper strategy in Hardcore Minecraft. After my research into copper farm designs, I started to question if they were really worth building. I will share with you all the pros and cons of a few different copper farm designs and put them to the test in game!
With my strategy, you can earn up to 1000+ Copper ingots per hour. That's almost 4x as much as LogicalGeekBoy's copper farm, 2x as much as Shulkercraft's copper farm, and over 2x as much as Rays Works copper farm!
This video was originally going to be a Hardcore Minecraft Let's Play episode but this week has turned into more of an analysis project, but it was worth it!

This is the best copper farm you can make in minecraft! it is the easiest to build, well actually there is no build required. Mining for copper ore, raw copper, copper ingots is actually faster than copper farms designed by gnembon, logicalgeekboy, Tango Tek, Shulkercraft, and cubicmetre. Don't build a copper farm.
Hardcore Minecraft is the most challenging difficulty. Where monsters like zombies and creepers not only spawn more often, but they do more damage as well. On top of that, you are only given one life, and if you die, you lose your world forever.

FURTHER DISCUSSION: One of my favorite things about Minecraft is that there never is one answer for how something should be done. One factor that makes a copper farm the preferred strategy for some players is the fact that you can AFK for the process, unlike mining. For an AFK Copper farm there are two options, accept the lower drop rates and AFK for longer amounts of time by letting the mobs die passively (no looting III) or use a clicker program and leave your player with a looting III sword at the farm to collect copper. For me, I definitely have and use AFK farms in my Hardcore World, but copper farms don't seem efficient enough to go the passive death route (959/hr is the looting III rate) and I personally am not comfortable enough leaving my player alone to kill drowned zombies knowing that if something goes wrong, I lose my world. So I'd be interested to hear, what is the best route for you? 😀 Do you trust your farm enough to go AFK with a clicker to kill zombies? I am way too scared of that option 😂

This is so true, exactly when u add bedrock parity to java, so many things in the minecraft could and can be created or recreated. Even updates just show how minecraft has really grown. Mumbo jumbo somehow recreated his old farms from the og days of minecraft and made it even better by view or just functionality.

But for me personally as a kinda if you don't need to do all of it don't do it kinda person i would mostly choose the zombie farm, but the other more efficient side of me would see the importance of the mob farm and would generally choose that. So just to sum up, it all really comes down to what your doing and how much your willing to do to get it finished. All together just go mining. :p

It depends from the player, tbh in your own world you can have farm that is not efficient as those mentioned in the video. I like gnembons design of this farm and If i will need more copper I will build it. The question is, do you need so much copper? Same goes for iron, you can always go mining but usually it is the case of being comfortable. If you need more of a certain resource you will go for automatic or semi automatic farm. If the build requires from me 1000 blocks of copper I would build the farm instead of going to mine.

defo depends on your play style. for me especially with the 959/hr design i’d rather do that because i can just go afk rather than do the monotonous task of mining for an hour. but that’s also because i’m a junior in high school and just don’t have time to set aside for stuff like that; i can have minecraft running in the background while i’m doing my homework.

It depends how much copper you need. If you need over 28,000 copper ingots to make over 3000 copper blocks for an artistic build like me then just making a farm that utilizes zombie recruits and setting up a regen beacon for AFKing is WAY more efficient! No comparison.
@ryan4105

I agree that the spawner and general mob farm versions aren't worth it, but the reinforcement one's rates are actually really good, lower than other farms since the drop rate is rare but with the spawn rate is so high and it doesn't spawn any non-copper dropping entities (zombie villagers, baby zombies) it's totally worth it. I would've had to mine an entire biome to get the copper I've used in my base obtained from one relatively small farm

I appreciate this video, around my spawn area there is a never ending drip stone cave with so many areas that I’ve mined more than 30,000 copper ore, and also found a copper vein. I also found an iron vein so the iron farm has been unnecessary as well. I appreciate these changes to the game for those of us who like mining instead.

Can't forget the important thing about farms versus mining: The farm is stationary. This is a massive important thing for me and my mega builds because while I'm building mega-structures the farms are off to the sides generating more material. The scale of a build affects the time it takes to gather materials which pushes the final deadline to completion; this is why I give farms and their ability to be made anywhere I designate my large build very useful for saving time and effort.

I think another thing to consider with the Mining vs Farming approach is that, while yes you will get more copper in the short term for simply strip mining. The process involves slowly expanding outwards and eventually depending on how often copper is going to be used (which will of course depend on how mojang decides to implement the ore into future mechanics, like as an example if copper golems won the mob vote that'd be another potentially wide spread use) go further and further out. In saying that and with the added notion of potential terrain generation like the ones coming in 1.18 the process could become much less simple then strip mine at X for an hour, the danger will be exponentially greater, which while not necessarily being a bad thing could very well be a big thing to consider especially for hardcore. Also and this is more subjective then any overall issue, the ability to get the processed ingots as drops means you can amass enough copper ore to either use as a decorative block itself or the resource blocks. Personally with coal, gold, redstone, and iron with the appropriate farms being so plentiful and diamonds having limited uses past the first couple tools and enchanting setups, I've found myself silk touching the ore blocks in case the "need" arises for them or their resource blocks (which is more towards raw copper iron and gold) to be utilized for a build. And this is all before considering the implications of multiplayer survival worlds and the fight for resources that would inevitably bring. (which would be up to the people on the server if that was a good or bad prospect........ not sorry for the pun)

Mining is great, if you are already mining. In a normal world, you might already mine a lot, and will never need a copper farm. But once it is mined (even with fortune 3), it is gone. However, if you want to create copper as a renewable resource, a copper farm is the way to go. This way, you don't have to move around beacons, dig for an hour and depend on luck, dealing with mobs, and you don't have to smelt it afterwards. It will take time to build, but once it is done, it will be much less work than mining. For my superflat world, I definitely need to build one. :)

I know that on a hardcore word the whole idea of afking sounds terrifying, but for us the average Joes, building a simple copper farm is the way to go. ianxofor has a really great design, it takes less than 5 minutes to build, and it van get around 8 stack of copper in an hour. The quiestion isnt just the rates when you decide whether a farm is worth it or not, for me afking a whole night and getting 2 shulker boxes of copper is more apealing, but it all comes down to your playstyle. I just wanted to mention this middle ground to consider.

Another thing to consider when it comes to farms vs mining is that farms spawn the resouce while the ones mined are finite. It may take forever, but inevitably you could mine every block of copper ore in the world. A farm takes that out of the equation and is unlimited.

Literally, it's basically reliability and consistency over slightly more resource and not the initial time investment... Majority of people probably don't know either of things like litematica and easy place mode. You can get a schematic and right click and it will place the blocks for you, makes it incredibly easy to build designs, you don't actually to have to understand the mechanics of it
@domimextra
@domimextra 29 күн бұрын
i personally say, if u dont need that much copper like say only need like a few says of the blocks then u should mine for it, but if u need a massive amount of coper then go with the farm, the farm will produce more over time, while its completely random amount for the minning. its a fixed number but then again as u said, its all play style and no one way is better then the other.

there is better farms than the one you found. Crimulus has a better farm than both of them and even mining. 1300 (may be 1600 actually) copper per hour farm is it, and it seems more worth it in the long run for copper. I would recommend you build the copper farm that gives 900+ copper, since you won’t constantly be mining for copper and you would be earning almost a 1000 copper per hour doing nothing while you could be doing other stuff, but make it where the mobs die like by magma or something and put hoppers under them so you aren’t the one doing the work

This comparison is unfair. You started the timer just before starting the mining and mined for an hour straight. You didn't consider the time for finding a site, building the beacon, mining a staircase down to copper level, mending your tools or smelting the copper. Additionally, 1 hour of manual labour is so much more expensive than 1 hour of automatic farming. Also you compared it to the rates of a 900 per hour copper farm, but there's an Ianxofour design that takes as little as 90 seconds to build and yields thousands of copper ingots per hour. The farm is so fast that it barely takes any time to warm up and reach full efficiency.
