quick question, does using ND means I could do long exp directly to the sun?
@Anadrolus Жыл бұрын
You never do a long expo of the sun, for what purpose ?
@JethroXP Жыл бұрын
No! ND filters do not block IR or UV, and those will still burn your sensor even if you can't see them. You need a solar filter for the sun. And you definitely don't need long exposures, those are only for low light. Long exposures of the sun will damage your gear and if you do get an image it will be blurred because the surface of the sun is so dynamic and constantly changing.

really wow what filter should i use to photograph the sun man
@djhudgins8412 Жыл бұрын
At least a 15 stop filter

So under what circumstances would the shutter be exposed to the sun for 30 seconds? Clearly it is stupid not to use a proper filter, but your sensor would not get burnt in such a short time.

Doesn't the lens act like a magnifying glass?

@@djhudgins8412 yes. But you can shhot a solar eclipse at iso 100 f8 at 1/200 sec.

@@ImSandwich which is blocked by the SLR's mirror, until you click the shutter to expose the sensor for a split second.
