The Harry Potter Kano Coding kit was heavily requested. The prices on Amazon keep fluctuating and the most expensive I saw it for was 130$ Canadian, and the cheapest it went for was 90$. I'm gonna be honest. With a product that focuses SO MUCH on building a wand for its promotion... I'm disappointed with the build part. Click, clack, clonk! It's a wand! I mean I appreciate the box and the illustrated guide and the price point is more about the website that the actual wand. I would have loved to see options with building the wand. All of them are exactly the same. It's plastic, though so would have have been that hard/expensive to include a few different battery cover plates so you could at least have some customizability? I mean even just a panel geared towards each Hogwarts house would have been amazing! #HufflepuffAndProud Maybe I'm just too salty for my own good. It's just a little thing that would have really kicked this up a notch to me.

I think this kit is worth it 100% but that price tag is just too high for the list of cons. If it dropped to 50 or 60 then yes 100% recommend it. To have so many problems with functioning just isn’t ok for such a high price tag. I feel like the only other thing they have going for them is the manual and the packaging. And visuals

Actually I wish I could buy this for my trainees, since I've started teaching programming to them a while ago and I think it's amazing. It was very good to see you doing it and giving this review, because actually that's most likely the level where my trainees start with their learning experience. (Usually they didn't code anything at all until I show them...) So that really helped me a lot. So I might wait a while and get it for myself in future. And I might or might not be able to use it at work with my trainees, but if I could and if they fix a few of their bugs, this seems great to me. So thank you very much for being so brutally honest about the stuff you review. It's not only funny for me to watch (what I really needed to day), but also full of useful information. Thanks for that.

If you want to code and create a story at the same time, I really recommend episode interactive! You can animate the characters, use overlays, use different character styles (3 of them at the moment), and the best part is that *its freeee!!!!!* 😂 but yeah it’s a really good website. If you just type up episode interactive on google and then click on the first link. There are always tutorials on line if you are unsure! Then once you’ve finished at least 3 episodes, you can upload it to the episode app so people can read it!

I know this most likely won't happen but it'd be even cooler if they had cases of the different wands throughout the movie so the person can choose their own wand style because sadly the wands can't choose it's wielder in real life like they do in the books and movies. We don't get to have the ceremony of the wand finding it's owner, so the least the company can do is have all the different wand looks for their coding wand. It'd be so cool rather than a plain dark wand that the kit has. For example when I visited the Wizarding World, I buy myself Bellatrix Lestrange's wand while in a replica of the wand shop in the series. Sure, Bellatrix's wand never chose me as it's owner, but I love her character so much I just had to get her wand and it also looks cool!

(I'm going to preface this comment by saying that I am currently taking classes toward a degree in computer science, so I do know a reasonable amount of coding) The one thing I think they could do better is have an option for people who have slightly more coding experience. For example an older child who already played through it with block code or an adult with a little experience could actually type code. Probably python (though I would settle for modified java if they had to, but python would probably be the best option as far as ease of use goes). It is a really great way to learn code, but learning block code doesn't necessarily translate directly into typing code without a little extra instruction.

If your interested in coding you should try hopscotch. It’s an extremely informative and easy to play game we’re you can create your own video games. It’s really easy and the sky’s the limit. The game really leaves it to your imagination to create whatever you want. I definitely recommend it to you for a salty review. Hopefully Jackie sees this!!!!
