You didn't about just putting a filter in that is not recommended for your AC unit. If I took your thoughts and put in a high-rated one you said was the BEST it would wear out my AC well before its time. It would have my AC coming on and off all season trying to push air through the BEST and wearing out my AC. Sorry, you need to go back to the drawing board.😒

Totally useless “comparison”. You need to compare same MERV and same size to each other. A MERV 8 will not filter as well as MERV 12, but will have better air flow
