The best way to answer this is to think about exactly what you want to do with a computer or would like to do with a computer. If you need to only do the essentials as in browsing the web, creating documents, and even gaming with streaming platforms. ChromeOS would be perfect. If you need to do anything more than access the internet and the basics, going with Windows or any Linux distribution would be needed. I'm not saying Linux is hard to use but you would have to learn a little bit about the software before doing some of the basic tasks you may be used to with Windows. Some Linux distros are easier to use than others. I do not have experience with any specific Linux distro at this time. If you're all about Apple products then MacOS is for you.
