supple leather is much better, at least I don't have to worry about bending it and stuffing it with many things inside. Stiff leather is more to aesthetic rather than practicality.

I like my supple much more than my stiff, box leather Sac. I find that I rarely use the stiffy because it's more dressy. You can dress the supple up or down, but the stiffy you can only dress it up.

fun fact : Jean Louis Dumas who created the birkin, designed the sac de jour. That’s why there are very similar

From what I read, Hedi Slimane (creative director YSL at the time) came out with the Sac De Jour to sort of make an updated style to the Birken.
