We stumbled on a really cool laser gadget for the portable bandsaw mill and always on the hunt for ways to make sawmiling easier and more fun we're giving it a test drive. Things don't go as planned right out of the gate and it's a bumpy ride figuring out of this is a trinket or genius!

I had a band saw mill. Had to sell it for I am to old to saw lumber any more.I had fun and did a lot of work. It was great but now I enjoy seeing you saw wood.

good video i got a magnet one to laser line was very hard to see and magnets were to weak to hold it true. i think it will have to be hard mounted to mill with adjustable plate. i gave up on mine. good luck take care, be safe and well.

I've been considering adding a laser to my sawmill this spring.

We have a lot of testing to do with it. This can be improved for sure! Have some ideas to speed up resaw, speed up off cutting cants etc. Time will tell if this gadget sticks or not!

Some green lasers have to warm up before shining bright.

Think out side the box. Rather than place the magnet bracket on the blade guard, make a taller bracket that would be vertical and hold the laser level but mounted on the bed frame. It could be removable once log is set up.
