Don't Buy Dell G15 Gaming Laptop 😭 Biggest Problem

I have a G15 5530 since 2.5 months... Was facing extreme heating issues, temperatures were always at 95-100 degrees cpu was throttling heavily when doing extensive task or gaming. Fans were quite loud even no better cooling was seen. Called their customer support team they connected remotely took screenshot of the problem yet no fix, finally told me to wait for an upcoming bios update so the problem can be fixed a ticket was raised nothing else... coming today it has been more than a month since i got any update regarding my issues. BUT I FOUND THE CULPRIT AND FIXED THEM BY SIMPLY SWITCHING SETTINGS FROM THEIR BUGGY AWCC. No way their machines are junk but their software needs some pretty heavy refinement. Finally the beast is performing as it should and i am more than happy with the purchase. Hope your problems resolves too

Sorry for the delayed response, as i was testing this device thoroughly after recent bios update... btw Dell simply removed some of their advanced facets through update on their AWCC, Instead of fixing legit bugs they are now removing additional features. It's frustrating to see their application is still not refined after these many years. Now coming to the point navigate to AWCC click on settings then move to Global preset -> switch to (system) on performance preset + lightning preset, after that navigate towards performance section, click on custom preset then advanced view on both Cpu + Gpu and under fan speed section check auto managed button on both(if not already selected), finally reboot the device and you're done. Hopefully this will fix the heating... as i see some improvements at custom switch(they did tweak them). Even after doing the above procedure if still facing the issue, then simply navigate towards TCC offset and set it to 90 and you're good to go(Try this only if above methods wont work for you). Hope this helps

hey sir i recently commented on your video that whenever i physcially moved my laptop there was lag in my dell g15 5530 i5 13450hx version there was a lag for a 2-3 minute and then they decided to replace the motherboard after replacing the motherboard the problem is not bad as before as the game used to be choopy before but now the fps falls from like 80 to 50 so i still reported the issue again what do you think will it get fixed?

The 2nd part of your comment regarding the FPS drop, I am also facing the same issue from last 15 days. I did some monitoring and presently I am assuming that the problem might be with the thermals as when the GPU stays in 80+ Celsius for more than 40-60 minutes, the system lower downs the GPU wattage from 80 to 30 and thus the temps are locked below 70C which results in a sudden FPS drop from 100 to 60+ Why I am assuming its a thermal issue and not the motherboard one because, when this happened I just close the game and gave about 10 min for the laptop running on full fan speed to cool down the temps; after doing this when I booted the game again all was working fine. Even this FPS drop is not seen when the GPU stays around 79-81 C; as I did played the game for almost 3 hours without facing this issue when my GPU was in 79-81C range Well I heard this from reddit that CPU bottlenecking will also cause the GPU wattage reduction, but I didnt monitor this yet My laptop Dell G15 5520 16GB one is 15 months old, didn't replace the factory thermal paste yet

@@niveshsharma7086 well the Dell customer care doesnt monitor the issue properly ! They just say do this test in BIOS this and that and at last say LAPTOP IS WORKING NORMAL. But the real game starts when the laptop is underload for many time. So I will suggest first monitor how your laptop is behaving like in my case I did monitor 1) why the FPS are dropping suddenly , got the answer that the GPU wattage is lowered down by the system 2) why system is lowering down the wattage ? , presently with whatever knowledge I have, it might be due to GPU staying in temps above 82 C for more than 40mins. or CPU bottlenecking which I dont have any knowledge about Refer this video to get the necessary stats - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5zck2aulK1ghrMfeature=shared Also see settings of your laptop as many times the laptop by default is set to work on low stuffs it can be the thermal profile or anything else in the BIOS, I never got this issue at time when it was new therefore, I don't know regarding this, but handle with care And if the issue is widespread among all then it might be due to some recent update I am saying in my case this might be thermal issue only because when I cool the laptop down the FPS are back to normal and even laptop is working normally in non-gaming tasks But if on changing the thermal paste or gaming in low temps even results this issue then time to call the Customer care and report this

I own a Dell G15 5530, the battery connector in ghe motherboard burned and one of my cooling fan was not working. Dell replaced the whole laptop, so now in this new laptop the keyboard key has come out and the display flcikers 💀. Im a hardware expert and i checked eveything with the hardware and i found out that display is not working properly and Dell denied to replace any parts. Like i invested 1.6 lakh on a stupid laptop that doesnt even work properly bro-

Yes their AWCC is pretty buggy by default..need to tweak some setting...and in my experience it is better to not using G mode instead just create a fan profile using a fan curve and use that for every game.. That way fan would run efficiently. otherwise g mode just runs the fan 100% all the time... that is not a game mode button but a max fan switch button

bro you should have bought the g15 wich has intel processor in it cuz i didnt face any issue since 1 year its absolutely working perfectly and yes i have a friend who has the same laptop like you and he is facing multiple issues like overheating, crashing the graphics driver, restarting the laptop on its own. Here the processor plays a major role. amd processors are good but after some time they suck so its always great to buy the laptops with the intel processors. Hope you'll fix your laptop soon.

First of all its the problem of Processor not of Dell Laptops AMD have lot of bugs and is unstable and AMD is the worst option on laptops with Windows... I have G15 with i9 and its working much better than any other laptops of its category... With no single issue... Temp - 50-60 while playing AAA games and while heavy rendering its 70-80...

I got the G5 5511 i7 model with RTX 3050 Ti 4GB last week. Wanted to ask you, do you experience a significant performance drop as soon as you plug out the laptop and when on batter power? I'm talking when using normally not gaming. For me when i plug out my laptop, on battery power everything is slower... did you experience this? Or now I also need to replace, it's just been a week they have 7 day return policy from where i got it.
