Don’t buy Roces 5th elements until you watch this ( downsizing possible )

Thanks so much for posting this! As a "10.5" shoe in most brands, I'd been miserable with the size 43 ("size 10") 5th Elements -- feet kept swimming around in the shell even with 2 pairs of thick socks. I was able to downsize to the 42 ("8/9") and I found that the Aeon Basic liners are a good fit (the Roces liner is too thick for me to downsize, length-wise - my big toe was getting smashed). They feel so great now! So much easier to lock on grinds when the boot fits snug and everything is super responsive.

Thanks a lot for detailed information, Roces sizing has always been an issue! Size chart on Roces website definitely does not accurate! I made so much research about that subject, I have an obsession on m12, anyway my foot is roughly 27cm and not so wide but also not a narrow foot either. 27cm foot on m12 shell size is -> uk9/9.5 - us 10/10.5 - eu43/44 27cm foot on 5th element shell size is -> uk7/8 - us8/9 - eu41/42 shell size is more important, liners now a days have a neoprene toe area which is expandable in time, and if you don't have a correct size skate you will lose some responsiveness from your skates after some time, chose your skates on shell size, liners will break in in time. Take mine as an example and make your calculations according to your foot size. I hope this helps.

Just wanted to mention, if your foot is 27cm, according to Roces size charts (and many other skate size charts) you would be a US 9. So with the red 5ths, you're riding the proper shell size for your foot length. Great skating btw. 👍

I agree! Nice skating and great vid as always, BUT with 27cm and a Size 9 shell your are not downsizing, you are just skating the shell meant for your foot! ;)

@@OnnoKaell so I cant fit in the 9 liner 🙂. Thats why Roces sent me a size 10 originally. Apparently in the fifth element its a max of 26.6cm. I had the same problem with razors bought an 8-9 shell but had to put a size 10 liner in there. Makes for an expensive hobby 🤣.

Hi, Thanks for the review. Wanted for too long to get 5th, but sizes are just confusing me. My current skates are roces m12, US9 With feet of 270mm they fit me fine after 20 hours or so liner broke in. But a tead narrow and my toes go numb after 2 hours or so. Was looking into 5th, but can't decide on the shell size. What is the length of US 8-9 shell without the liner? most definitely you are in your shell now and it is not downsizing... even the stock liners should fit 27cm foot after maybe few breakin sessions

There are different measurements on the shell length inside al over the web so im not sure , i know the m12 is more barrow and requires true size . I would have to skate a size 10 m12 to fit. Sounds like you could fit in a medium shell with an 8 or 9 liner . The fifth elements are wide in the front and keep your feet from going numb 😀.

Hey man thanks for the video. I m lost with this size story. My feet are 28cm so I should order 10 but lot of people advised me to order the 9 then maybe change the liner. What’s your opinion ?

The ten shell is huge. I recommend a 9 with a different liner. And truth is you might not even have to change the liner, they expand alot. I wear the liner in the house for a few hours before I skate to open up the liner.

I think you could try the medium roces shell. Especially if your foot is around 27 cm. so a size 9 could work for you, I skate a 9 shell with a 10 liner

I have a 285cm foot, so i got the 43/44 i have only skated them for 30 mins but they are really sore and hurt my feet. do you think i should just keep skating them and they will loosen up? or try to fit a 10.5 liner inside?

You can try thinner socks, but even with the liner worn in I think it will be a tight fit. My trick was to use a larger liner. Most shells have alot of space not utilized so bigger liners can expand a good amount in that empty space.

RECOMMEND SIZE 9 BRO. 10 is the large shell and is huge. worst case you get an aftermarket liner.

I think the Large shell is better, because my foot is 27.2 and the medium shell is tight.
