Thank you for sharing. I don’t really open sealed because it’s hardly ever worth it. I’ll wait for the single market to settle down. But either way thanks for the perspective.

@alchemistarcher023 ай бұрын
The issue with the tins is hard to see from Konami’s social media. The issue is that we can tell by the set numbers by now that there will be a pool of one HUNDRED secret rares. That’s 30 more than last year’s tins. Even ignoring possible short prints, you have a THREE PERCENT chance per $22 tin to pull any individual card of the most expensive chase cards. The reprints are all fine choices, but the rarities are completely unbalanced. It will be twice as easy to pull any QCR promo card you are looking for, because the pool of QCRs is only 50. We don’t know how many Ultra rares there will be, but we haven’t seen any card announced yet that lowers the price of a meta card.

I bought 1 case. The main reason was because my buddy just got his distrubtion license, so I wanted to help him out a bit as we were both excited for that. I am not expecting great pulls but will be fun to crack open with my friend. Secondly, Ive been away from the game for a few years, so this will be nice to try & get a lot of stuff Ive missed out on that Ive wanted to pick up. With that being said, I would NOT recommend picking these up in bulk. Buy the singles.

100% agree this year Konami made bad decision after ba decision. Only money driven, nothing for the players, very sad to see
@shoesbrews63963 ай бұрын
lol what do you mean nothing for the players? Wanted, diabellstar, unchained cards, little knight? Typhon??? These aren’t for the players? What’d you want, Fiendsmith cards? That’s next year bud… people are being super delusional about this tin. Yea the set is too big, but the sets put into the tin are some of the most competitive sets in years. People are just whiny because they want to spend $20 and pull a $100 card and this product has never been for that. Pull better in base sets…

@@shoesbrews6396 are you on crack ? Or are you just that ignorant to what has been happening all year ?
@RandomIdiotGS3 ай бұрын
@@shoesbrews6396 Sorry, but who are you and are you even remotely involved with the card game? I suspect you are just a vendor/reseller venting because you want to defend making profits at the literal expense of the actual players of this game. The chase cards that people really want (such as S:P Little Knight) are only reprinted in either a QCR or PScR rarity. There's 1 and 3 of each type per pack and there's a 1/50 and 3/150 (so 1/50) chance for each. An additional problem is that a huge amount of the QCR and PScR cards are reprints of relatively undesired cards, so if you want to buy a huge amount of tins to get the card(s) you want, you are also unlikely to make your money back. Let's do the math here. Suppose you absolutely need 1 specific cards of a QCR or PScR to complete your deck, then that means you have a 1/50 and 3/150 (so 1/50) chance for each. Statistically you would need to buy FIFTY TINS (!!!) to ensure you're getting the card you want. That's 12-16 euro or dollar each depending on the vendor, roughly 600-800 Dollar/Euro. Now overall, for a super rare version of a card having something be like the holy grail isn't so bad. However, these are cards that are very relevant in the meta of which many are not printed in sufficient quantities in sufficient rarities to make them commonly accessible for the actual players unless you shell out 600-800 Dollar/Euro for FIFTY TINS or unless you agree to pay 20 to 60 euro/dollar for a specific card on the secondary market (again, just look at S:P Little Knight). In addition it doesn't help that almost all commons found in this set are also not reprints the PLAYING community would actually want/need. This set is literally 95% chaff. This also means that the secondary market is going to adjust prices accordingly to make their money back, something I suspect you are very much aware of already. If there is a diluted 400 card set that has almost no cards of value in them, then the cards of value that are in them are going to see a major price increase. This in turns makes such cards non-financially feasible reprints for actual players who are hoping to see rare but essential cards CHEAPER and not actually become even more expensive. I don't even know why I'm explaining this to you because there are comprehensive videos out there by actual players of trading card games that show you that reprinting a rare card, but still keeping it locked to a very elusive rarity, is not going to make anything cheaper for the actual fans (in fact, if the set is diluted with chaff it will likely be the opposite). Plus there is the very obvious argument that there is almost never a reason where a an actual Yu-Gi-Oh! player would WANT to buy a booster/tin/product, simply because getting what you need in singles is cheaper... ...But still not as cheap as it would've been had sets, for example, had their set of cards available in a fair amount of cards, with a fair amount of chase cards, available in ALL rarities (or at least all in a common rarity). Because, and here is the meat and potatoes of all of the above, by keep a select group of desired cards locked to high rarities you are going to create a paywall that are either going to force people to abandon playing decks requiring those cards or force them to buy them if they want to actually play the game with cards relevant to the modern game (which is inevitable when it comes to staples). And that, ultimately causes the game (a physical card game) to have a pay to win concept. Or even a pay to play concept, depending on how you look at it. Ergo, Yu-Gi-Oh! is not for the players or collectors. It's for the secondary market so that Konami can try to peddle off their entire inventory.

@pumpcards3 ай бұрын
Yeah true but that is still a heavy price tag for a 1 of tin card, cards like prosperity as a 3 of were at 37€ after release. Also we don’t know yet if the price will go up or not
@RandomIdiotGS3 ай бұрын
Not entirely true. It's only going for around 30 Euro for private sellers. For professionals and powersellers (ergo if you don't want the risk of buying from a random individual) it's 45+. Also keep in mind that as the first wave of cards get bought up you'll see that the remaining sellers inflate their prices more as the card itself becomes more scarce again. So in other words you can panic buy from a seller between 30-50 to get it "cheap" or risk seeing it creep up. ...Keep in mind, for a card that is practical for so many decks that it really should've been printed in a lesser rarity already.

The leaks look pretty fire. It's definitely going to be a fun set to open. If you're looking to get SPECIFIC cards tho.... lol it's a product you should skip. If you have a decent trade group or a good locals scene where you can probably get rid of the cards you don't want, I think it's still a good set to buy into. That said all my locals have sold out, and raised the price on restock. not picking these up untli Black Friday when the hype cools down. They are definitely doing better than last years tins.

I mean giving manadome imagings a foil print to bling out the deck isn’t bad. I think people need to stop thinking of competitive play and think of just the consumer in general. You keep Saying that no one is playing this or that but no way you can measure what casuals are playing.
@pumpcards3 ай бұрын
Yeah u are right, but "blinging out" your casual deck does not have to conflict with making meta staples affordable. They could have easily put more of the good cards into the ultra rare slot while still rarity upgrading more "casual" cards. They could have easily done this, by making the "rarity upgrades" secret rare and the meta staples ultra rare. Boom, there you would have a good product for both casuals and meta gamer!
@frig70143 ай бұрын
Does the "consumer in general" want a bunch of dogshit in their $20 tin or cards that might actually help them build decks for locals? Look at the list of ultras and commons and tell me 1 deck that is gonna be cheaper to build. These secrets reprinted as even harder to pull secrets will do about as much to push down prices as OTS ultis do (whoo hoo a $100 card is now $80). The only consumer happy about this tin is whatever anime timmy out there that goes on DB to host "DM decks ONLY" lobbies.

This video is literally a pointless complaint. Yea they made the mistake of making the set so huge and it’s obvious the big cards will be short printed. However, looking at this product like you’re going to make money off of it is the delusion of the buyer. It’s a card game and the upgrades are fine for what this product is. Who cares if you make money off of it. People need to stop looking at every hobby product like some kind of investment strategy and just take it for face value (pun intended). It’s corny to complain about something because you won’t make your money back on it. Don’t buy it! Plain and simple. For the player base there are some cool upgrades. You want value? Go collect Pokemon….
@pumpcards3 ай бұрын
I do agree to a certain bit, but I dont see it the same. There is always some kind of value to hobbys, especially when there is "physical value" included in the game. The collection aspect of this game basically makes the value. And with the horendous amount of money you have to invest into this game to play on a somewhat competitive level, you definitely have to look at products and look at the value, not just the playability. And yeah many people dont look at it that way and will probably invest without getting anything in return. Thats why I did the video... :) I think you are making it way to simple by saying "if its bad, dont buy it". Its not about making money off of it but you want to get something back thats worth your money, like good playing cards etc.

@pumpcards3 ай бұрын
The problem is, that common reprints are basically not needed, at least most of the time because it is just a reprint of already existing cheap cards. Why do we have to see the same pack filler cards we already have thousands of in our bulk box?! Pack fillers are the worst. At least reprint cards that are sought after like good staples but not the cucumber horse nobody even plays
@DirtCheapFU3 ай бұрын
Sure. From a sellers POV. Common reprints are not needed. From people hoping to get a budget version of a deck they wanted. Megatins has always been the product. The rarities From megatins have always been low tier value. "Ew. Parallel Secret Rare. No thank you". Its a budget tin full of reprints. Same ol' tin theme as last year... and the year before... and the year before that.
@frig70143 ай бұрын
@@DirtCheapFU this tin doesn't have any good common reprints. the commons are legitimately "cucumber horse" x 100, a few archetypal cards are in there from expensive decks sure... but only the cards from those archetypes that were already cheap commons.
