Saludos desde Honduras, tuve exactamente el mismo problema que tú, mi autopress dejo de funcionar a los 5 meses, y si bien me han prometido que me devolveran una maquina nueva, me advirtieron que para esta nueva máquina no tendré garantía.

By the way a 200 dollar press can catch on fire - believe me. So watch it. There are press that are in the 700 range that are really good and larger. I like the Cricut autopress with 2 pads. It is easy to use. The plane is small but it really does the job when it works.

All of them can, and that's partly the point. That's why these things have fuses... to break in case of potential fire. But the difference here is when that happens, you can replace it and keep using your perfectly good press. Unlike the Cricut...

Cricut is such a scummy company. So sorry that happened to you. I'm glad you found a good, cheap replacement.

I have the autopress… You need to add 3 mats to get a good press…… There’s a slight gap in between the plate when it goes into pressure mode with one heat matt.. Also the auto press for some reason is 35 degrees off using heat gun… If you need a temperature of 300 degrees put it on 335

That's honestly not a great experience when you need to buy additional stuff in order to make the $1,000 tool work as intended. The press I recommend gives good results out of the box.
