Use second largest brake pin on my ssg10, I did lose lot of J ( don't know how many fps, in my country we measure in Joule with bb's that normally use on field), but in combination with silencer, it's deadly quiet... @ Looking Cool is Not the Intention If you jump back and forth of the no air brake pin and the 29mm air brake pin you can hear the pop is quieter. ( Just to go from one extreme to the other ) I think you'll find it's the trigger mechanism when releasing the piston that is making the more noise. Still defeats the object of the air brake pin unless you make the trigger mechanism quieter. But not being there makes it harder to say 'That's where it's coming from' Just a thought.....
@lookingcoolisnottheintenti18344 жыл бұрын
The problem with digital cameras is that they auto level the sound so two vastly different sounds levels can sound very similar which is why I use a sound meter. I agree that it could be the trigger mechanism, but there was no obvious difference in sound 'location' during my test. But this was just a test of the Air Break pins, not the noise of the trigger mechanism.
@So-Allegedly4 жыл бұрын
@@lookingcoolisnottheintenti1834 But this is my point, if the trigger mechanism is doing the 97/98 dB it will not make any difference to the sound meter if the air brake pins work and are quieter than 97/98 dB as the sound meter only records the loudest sound. I'm not disrespecting you in anyway, I do like the video and have found it helpful, I'm just bouncing some thoughts about mate.
@Brownicus4 жыл бұрын
I'd also be curious to see if having the sound meter further away from the gun and if shooting towards the sound meter would make a difference in sounds levels that were picked up. Possibly tested in a larger or outdoor space to simulate a more game like scenario.
@lookingcoolisnottheintenti18344 жыл бұрын
@@Brownicus it would, but only because of the reduced amount of air (less FPS) that it would be quieter. By the time you get the FPS back up where you want it, it would be the same

You're measuring dBA at the wrong place... the gun itself will be the same loudness. It's the sound at the tip of the barrel that changes. The actual pop the gun makes up front. Coupled with a silencer it's tremendously quieter with an air brake.

Would you recommend the pins if a gun is shooting hot? Is the FPS consistent
@lookingcoolisnottheintenti18343 жыл бұрын

The other thought that I had with these is that you should use it FOR the FPS drop. That way you can get a heavy spring and then drop the FPS to the Milsim or field your going to.

@LöwenTarn4 жыл бұрын
Can it be that the airbreak pins have no sound reduction because you tested the sound without a bb in the bucking? The sound of a gun firering is always louder when it is empty because there is nothing blocking the barrel. You can hear if your mag is empty by shooting. So maybe you should test it with bbs in the mag 🤷♂️
