Kudos for admitting your mistake with the filter. I would take the video down until you do a reshoot.

Hi John, I appreciate that. I’ve thought about it, but I decided to leave it up for now for a couple reasons. First, I don’t want people to think I’m trying to hide my mistakes. I’m trying to be open and show the true me, and hopefully people like it. Second, I’m trying to meet KZbin’s requirements for subscribers and watch time to get monetized and start making money from doing this. If I take it down, they won’t count anything I gained from that video toward those goals. So, I think I’ll just leave it up for now. Maybe I should add a comment or something to the description so people know about it before they watch. I may take it down in the future, but I think I need to leave it up for now at least until I get into the KZbin partner program. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.

lol, yeah, I felt like that was a pretty dumb mistake, but I thought I thought that I should own up to it as you saw near the end of the video. I know some channels will cut that stuff out of scrap the video altogether, but It was best to just be honest and show everything, mistakes and all. Like I said, I might retest it, but I’m not really how interested everyone will be since it’s kind of an old product at this point.

Don't know about using the grey foam filter, what you should have done is read the instruction manual before using the machine and giving it bad publicity because you didn't know what you were doing? It is after all an 18V machine.
@rob-toolsandtech25212 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I probably should have figured out a better way to edit the video to be clear that it was my mistake. I did know about about those wet filters, but I forgot all about it, and I didn’t want to take it out and hide my mistakes. I should make an update. It’s a pretty useful machine. The battery life is too short for some things, and the narrow hose does get clogged easier than some of the other battery operated ones, but it’s really handy if you just need to suck a smaller amount of dry or liquid up, and don’t want to string a cord to wherever you need to use it. It’s just stuff like that damp saw dust that seemed to keep clogging the hose. I used it for blowing dust out of a furnace and vacuuming out heat registers. It’s nice to go room to room without dealing with a cord. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

@@rob-toolsandtech2521 Thank you Rob for being big enough to say that. I appreciate your honesty, which will make me want to continue watching your channel. I bought one of these machines and I'm very happy with it. And as you say quite fairly it could do to last longer on a 5ah battery and personally I haven't had a blockage in the hose though I know it will come at some point as my old machine did with wood shaving in a same sized hose. Good luck with your channel, I'll be watching. Tony.

@@tony5006 you’re welcome. I plan to start making videos regularly again soon now that I got through the life storm I was in. I do have one I’m going to publish today or tomorrow, but it’s not really much of a video. It’s just an update to let people know what’s been going on with me. I should have planned it better, because it was kind of a spur of the moment thing, and I said a lot of “um” and “uh” I tried taking a few of them out in editing so hopefully it’ll be a little better. I still left some in there though. Hopefully I can easily shake the dust off my video making skills and start publishing regularly again soon. Thanks again for the feedback. Talk to you later.

I bought one and am very disappointed in it too. The first time I used it I had a 2 amp battery and it was doing a great job but the battery only lasted 10- 15 min. I put a 4 amp battery in and it really started acting up. It wouldn't suction only blow. I checked everything several times and it suddenly started sucking. With the 4 amp battery it was extremely loud. I mean ear blasting loud. Stated to suck and suddenly just blew. The noise was unreal. I haven't touched it since. Was looking for info thinking I had done something wrong. So far haven't found any.
@rob-toolsandtech25212 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it could be defective. Mine doesn’t last too long either. I don’t have that issue with the 4ah batteries though, so I’m thinking yours may be defective unfortunately.

Why doesn’t any take a min and read manual for dry cleanup use big filter for wet use black filter and if you don’t use filter a bunch of debris went into motor so probably have to take apart and clean it out

Yeah, I admitted it in the video later, I wanted to leave it on, because I didn’t want to make it look like I’m hiding my mistakes. To be fair to Ryobi, I should probably do a follow up video. I hope there was still some info in there that helped someone.

@@rob-toolsandtech2521 .... I have this unit but thankfully I did not buy it for myself.... it was a Christmas gift....And as much as I hate to say it ..being I like Ryobi ...it was horrible.... Actually it's not the vacuum fault. It's your fault! How in your mind are you going to use the vaccum without any kind of filter!? Of course it's not working well because you already f... Up the thing! About the battery, well is a powerful running motor. Where do you think it takes power from? A Ridgid vaccum similar to that, ( one that is actually not any more in the market by the way!) With two 4 amp / hour battery last around 25 minutes. Do you know how much you can vac in 25 minutes? If you need more just bring more batteries or use a corded one! And you are complaining about the 15 minutes with a 4 amp battery? Your lack of knowledge make this video bring Total disinformation!

Misinformation was definitely not my intention. I left it in and posted the video, because I wanted to be honest and not hide the mistake from viewers, and I thought there was still some valuable information in there. For instance, the size of the hose. It gets clogged quicker than a larger one. Hopefully I can get better at clarifying these things in the future. Thanks for the feedback l.
