I visited yesterday, you should travel to solang valley, i recommend you to book a cab from manali(from 6:30-7:00am) to nehru kund, and book an ATV from there and take a ride to solang valley and enjoy there. Otherwise you are gonna be jammed with the traffic.

@mr.huntervlogs3917 you can travel to manali, but you should be concerned about the hotel prices there, it starts from 2000/3000 per night. Cab booking starts from Rs.500 (even at 1km distance-non negotiable). Book bus ticket in which the destination time is day time, otherwise you will face severe cold while being stranded in the midnight and some hotels won't open doors at that time as well. Carry a light handbag, as you can travel comfortably by legs. You can visit the tibetian monastery there, and you can pretty much travel everywhere in manali by walking because it's a small and beautiful place. Edit: and you "MUST" bring snow boots that is water resistant, thank me later

​@@clamshot6880Sure, bring enough resources and warm clothes or bring lots of money, food prices is 3× times up there than market rates. Come with 4×4 vehicles, snow roads are slippery and dangerous to travel.

Indian hill stations aren't equipped to deal with snow, and worse, the hotels don't even have standards oil based heating systems. These destinations could be heaven if managed and governed well.

how irresponsible and myopic your statement is, even Switzerland or any top European tourist destination struggles during peak summer season. you should look at Eifel tower or any place in Italy they look just like Gateway of India absolutely thrashed and littered. once in lifetime is not worth loss of life. we need big time infrastructural upgrades but good luck with the current freebie's culture of Indian politics. Its complete irresponsible of Manali administration as imd issue red and orange alert why did they let 4x2 or front wheel drive cars above manali. Only 4x4 and taxi 4x4 should be allowed in snow conditions what they can do is fix the rate for 4x4 taxi 1500 per head for up and 1500per head for down and if someone idiot tired other way to pass through then charge 50000 for rescue
